One of the items I am most excited to finally have in my collection, the Xbox Live Orange Controller S. I know this picture is a bit low quality (but hey, I can handle my cell phone better than most), but Ive got some family things going on that dont allow me to take my usual. Look for those next week.
He rang Bill Gates doorbell, when Bill answered the door, Borman swiftly kicked him in the nuts, ran into the house, and stole the controller. It was crazy. You shoulda been there. I got it on video, but I accidentally left my thumb on the lens, so you can't see much.
There it is! So sexy! And Borman can be the first to give all those private collectors the finger for never taking pictures of one! =)
Money plus seeing it at the right time, that's all. Happy to have it though Bonus picture Im using obnoxious watermarks to discourage people from using these images when Ill be doing nice ones soon.
I wish consoles came in colors like orange again. Nintendo, the one who once released systems in all colors of the rainbow, sparkly etc., now holds back too.
So good to finally have a clear picture of one also nice of your to share. My eyes popped when you showed me the controller the other day.
Absolutely gorgeous. Somehow I never knew this existed. I remember "Live is 5ive" promotional controller, but not the original 2002 Live version. Learn somethin' new everyday.
They are quite rare, given out to employees who worked on XBL. No one knows for sure who got one, let alone how many have survived the dump, so its nice to have.
Yeah, not many people know about it. I have sent messages to 30+ Microsoft employees in the past trying to get one and I think only 2 or 3 even knew what I was talking about. -_-
It's a thing of beauty! I know a collector in the US who has one of these an he seems to think that less than 20 of these were made for the original XBL team (not sure where he got that information from but he is generally spot on with what he tells me). Can I ask what you gave for it? Feel free to PM me if you don't want it public... or tell me to piss off if you don't want to tell me at all! haha
It's so weird how many of them don't know about a lot of things, even if it was right under their noses. I guess many just did their job and called it a day. If I was in that industry I'd be taking notes every second
One of the employees I talked to sactually knew what building the controllers came out of and said they remembered seeing several of them in a box at one point but didn't know what happened to them.
I always tend to take what one employee says with a grain of salt anyway, Ive had some tell me some ridiculous thing that was later contradicted by multiple sources
The number of Launch Team consoles. Haha. Well that employee or former employee seemed pretty sure of himself. It is the first time I had heard any claims like that.
Ha, As a group we have enough evidence to debunk 60 were made. (I still don't believe any were crushed, but I have no evidence to support it at this time unfortunately) As for the XBL Controllers, no idea the story on those. So anyone could make up any story and it might catch traction. (hopefully no one does)
