They passed a law in Japan about 5 years ago that they must show tax-inclusive price. It can be smaller than the pre-tax price, but it must be visible. Very helpful.

One thing I noticed about Chinese people in general (here in my area) is that they love shopping at warehouse/membership club places.

Costco is literally packed with chinese families on the weekends. Perhaps they associate these bulk buy places with the open market setups in their homeland?

God no, it is my version of the JC sentence, from the bible. But then again he could probably have it from some old source. Which could be many, heck he used an old Confucius sentence, where he just removed the "not´s" in Confucius sentence "do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you". and how typical, I make a grammatical error in my former post, which you quoted.

I blame Mao and his clothing policy.

Who wants to be dressed as the rest of the population in the country???

That makes everyone the same... A statement which is obviously untrue, even in the communist-est of communist countries.

Not everyone is the same. Not everyone feels and thinks the same way, and people should have the right to express it.

I guess when you come from a communist regime...and then come here and forced to build our Railroads.... You'd be a dick.

    I'd be a dick too.

I know I'll be when I flee Communist America to go to Canada.

Although some reciepts have the unit prices with tax and some don't and have the tax amount added at the bottom of the reciept, this does make doing expenses harder then it should be. :banghead:

My favorite is Amazon JP. They do some weird shit where they list the item w/ the pre-tax unit price, but the total shows the tax-inclusive price. Assholes.
