Yes pleAse. I'm now n the undersea tunnel for walking from Honshu to Kyushu. Just jogged 2.5km and walked 2km. Now taking a rest before I finish off with another 2.5 km. Man my legs are f@*ked and I'm sweating like a pig but it's all for good. There are quite a few people down here tonight so they have the aircons on full. Still sweat though.

Werejag, to improve yourself just see how established members post

Sorry for all the spelling errors. Touch screens are crap for typing plus I'm nacked.

Hehehehe, nope, just an iPod Touch (they have WiFi in the tunnel !!) for music and net when I'm taking a 5 minute breather.

Man, it was a hard run today. I haven't been in about a week so my legs sure felt the pain. I'm back there on Thursday. phew.

That being said, I'm interested in that "Game Girls" fanservice, so @HCK, somehow let us know when it's available.

    Thanks!

glad to see things deflating now.

mods are people, can make different valutations and sometimes mistakes.

I consider the deletion of that lizards topic a mistake, for example, but hey people, we all have bad days.

when i have such days i try to avoid arguing with users... in the last days there's been a few posts to which i would have gladly answered:

    "that is the door =>"
and it would have been a mistake from me.

when users manage to keep their temper and think of the consequences of their posts all stays clean and nice.

and really, if there's a work that NOBODY amongst the users will EVER thank you for it's moderating :p

as a last word i almost always soft-delete dubious posts so that the other mods or kev can fix back the matter. i suggest all our mods to do the same.

    A couple of things:

1/ Hard deleting posts is kind of shitty. Obviously if someone posts child porn then that content needs to be permanently removed from the server, but for regular posts, why hard-delete it?

2/ Would an NSFW thread make sense? Obviously any minor on the site has access to the internet and therefore all the porn their libido desires. It seems to me like just banning anything racy is a bit weird given the regularity with which copyright-infringing content gets thrown around here. I mean, images of nudity aren't illegal.

But hey, as practically everyone else has said - Assembler's site, Assembler's rules. I'm not trying to rock the boat, and I don't much care either way.

Rules weren't stated then and the mods couldn't make the call. The picture of the womans vagina was raised and removed. They thought suggestive material was okay. I don't think the situation had ever arose before and hence rules weren't in place so the call couldn't be made.

There are indeed minors around here. I know I joined up when I was 13 and im sure others have joined up. Some maybe younger.

If something is labeled 18+ and you're underage to view something. Where the material is.. Would not be to blame. Anyway that's how I see it.

I think ASSEMbler is trying to avoid compartmentalization of the forums for that reason - be it a subforum or individual posts. Can't say I blame him that regard as it allows for a much easier job in terms of moderation.

On top of that if you wanted to be a stickler 18 is the "age of majority" in the United States. Some countries have that higher or lower in which case someone might have a hissy fit because their children aren't adults until 21 and now we violate their law. Thankfully nobody (for the most part) has to comply with such laws except for those of the country the server resides in.

The internet is tricky business. Probably a clause in most ISP contracts about the activity of all usage being the responsibility of the person named on the account which should realistically absolve website operators of children bypassing age restrictions. In actuality courts rarely follow common sense seeing as its a Super Power these days.

Better safe than sorry I suppose.

As for modding being a taxing and unrewarding experience: been there, done that and would do it again. After modding for several years in multiple locales I can concur with it being taxing. Unrewarding for the most part as you typically end up being the bad guy to non-mods/non-admins kinda like your boss is. The part I enjoyed was keeping the place spic und span for everyone as well as the peace.

I was once a moderator as well, but later on was booted off I heavily policed the server and the admin wasn't happy but the players were... Anyway the choices you make can always effect the forum. At the end of the day, what ASSEMbler says, goes. It is his site after all.

^ Answer to all of the posts in this topic.

    Who the fuck really cares?

    It's an internet forum.

Go and stress about something tangible, profound or meaningful.

If you're pissed off about losing content then YOU SHOULD HAVE BACKED IT UP!

Don't know if it's just me but I'm finding it really fucking hard to enjoy being on these forums of late.

So many moaners and complainers and if they're not kicking up a fuss it's sarcastic pricks and scammers.

Nobody is perfect but there's an unusual level of asshattery going on, which is leading me to be an asshat in return.

reignite? it's been burnin' since the world's been turnin'.

I tend to agree with Twimfy. A lot of dumb stuff happening around here. People making something out of nothing just to argue about it.

For a while there it was just 2 or 3 members that were always making dumb threads and pissing people off. But that number has grown a bit it seems.

There isn't anything I can do about it. So remember: Party, party hard, after party. Get money, get paid.
