New Scanliner, we call it SLR now...

 

Using the Hanzo and the upcoming Kenzei together shouldn't cause any input lag, right? I only ask because I really had to wrestle with my xrgb-mini to reduce input lag.

 

Thanks. I have a Euro SCART to mini din cable coming. So I'd need a Kenzei and Kuro? This would allow me to use both 31Khz and 15Khz from the Dreamcast to the XRGB Mini? What about other VGA sources, would the Kenzei work with those too?

yeah exactly you need a VGA box(Kuro or Hanzo) and Kenzei. It's working with GC VGA cable, however I haven't tested it with other sources. It's designed and optimized for DC in mind.

It is difficult to tell from the picture but I suspect that Kenzei has a female SCART connector - typically the SCART end of an XRGB-Mini SCART to Mini-DIN-8 adapter is female as well. So in addition a SCART cable with 2 male SCART connectors will be needed to connect the Kenzei to the XRGB-Mini SCART adapter.

(The XRGB-Mini ships with a female RGB-21 to male Mini-DIN-8 adapter - which unfortunately looks identical to the SCART version.)

 

Yeah, it has a female scart for video output. Vga for video input.

I haven't seen a chassis type male Scart connectors to use on the pcb. It's pretty hard to find the female ones too.

I saw someone builds male scart to mini din cables, but don't remember who now. I am still trying to find those mini din connectors if I can find them I will build too.
Scart plug can be changed too...

however demand is so high and when you order you need to wait for a few weeks..

Not much point as owners of SCART selectors would simply want use a standard male-to-male SCART coupler to hook up Kenzei to the selector - short of replacing the socket with a cable with a male SCART connector that can plug right into the selector. If you are offering cables anyway drop the SCART socket; use readily available connector(s) for Kenzei's output and sell both a Kenzei-to-male-SCART and a Kenzei-to-male-Mini-DIN-8 cable.

They probably received some requests from people with SCART selectors that use a female output SCART socket rather than a cable with a male SCART connector - while some demand exists it is probably limited. For example the Madcatz SCART selector was popular in its day and it already outputs to a male SCART connector which can be plugged in to a common "XRGB-Mini female SCART to male Mini-DIN-8 adapter".

That shouldn't be a problem - finding good ones at a reasonable price may be. And because of their small size all of them are supposed to be a pain to work with. Also if you want to make Kenzei more XRGB-mini friendly a 3xRCA + 3.5mm Stereo-to-male-Mini-DIN-8 may be a better way of go - people with an XRGB-mini and a SCART selector probably already have a spare male-to-male SCART coupler to hook up Kenzei to the SCART selector (which feeds into the XRGB-Mini). People without a SCART selector simply want to connect Kenzei to the XRGB-mini. The female SCART XRGB-mini adaptor is optimal for already existing console-to-male SCART RGB AV cables. But when using "Kenzei + XRGB-mini" the SCART connection is only important when there is a SCART selector in between them.
