Did they at least put the handbrake down? what about the shift? were they so stupid as to let it on first gear?
The car had it's hand break off and out of gear but if you don't switch on my Impreza's engine it will remain stiff to move as well as the foot breaks remaining rock solid. They didn't know that to start the engine you need to have the clutch fully pressed in. All modern manual transmission cars are like that these days unless they super cars. Yakumo
I was under the impression that Japanese people crammed a lot of knowledge in their heads, thanks to long and hard school years nevertheless h:
They do however most of it is pointless shit. Same goes with learning English. If they take something such as TOEC they'll learn words that even a native speaker would be puzzled with. What's the point is learning smart arse words when they still can't hold a perfect fluent everyday conversation? Yakumo
Hilarious! Also, congrats on the aniv!...? That's why one needs to keep their pocket cam with them at all times. Would have made an excellent little video, especially if you palmed it and got all the dialogue as well. Oh, life! :-D
LOL @ Yakumo, I would rage if I saw my car being handled like that, I'd probably not be able to hand over my keys to begin with. I got a Sansa Fuze yesterday which is shaping up to have a very, very nice microphone and recording ability. I will record a video/sound in the next few days, it's far more interesting with good sound
Looking forward to it. I'm thinking of doing a video today but can I be bothered????? Hmmmmmmmm, It is a nice day but I'm in lazy mood. No wife or kid about today you see so I just want to relax.
I really want to drive around right now but I'm too screwed up right now and that'd be a horrible idea. ... and not because I'm too drunk... oddly enough. My latest addiction is driving around, then sitting in the 24-hour grocery store parking lot listening to music and playing solitare on my phone for half an hour. Then driving off, having a smoke, and stopping in the next lot. For some reason it's more comfortable than sitting in my bedroom with the internet at my disposal.
I know what you mean. Last night I went out for a drive at 3:30am. I just couldn't sleep so out I went. I had a great time. Not because I was really driving that fast but because I had all the roads to myself. fantastic! Got stopped by the F*ing police though. They said they were doing checks to see if people had been drinking. Luckily I hadn't so a quick show of my license and I was away again. Yakumo
Also in Greece they have roadside shrines to mark near misses or deaths. In Crete there was at least 1 per mile on the highway from Xania to Iraklion. The reason is probably this: And because they herd goats along the highway. Turn a sharp mountain corner and there is a goat in the way. Shiiiiit! :noooo:
Once I was driving around having a serious chat with a friend, and suddenly over the top of a hill is a huge ammount of cops... First I thought there was an accident or something, but then realized they were funneling traffic through a parking lot... I stop at an officer, he asks says they're doing a drunk driving check or something, asks for my license and proof of insurance (oddly not my proof of registration, but then again I don't know what he actually cared about). I barely said more than a few words to him, he just looked at my shit then gave it back and told me to have a nice night. I can't help but wonder if they were looking for something, or someone else and disguised the stop as a supposedly "routine" DUI check (which I've never seen before).
The Japanese police always stop drivers for no real reason apart from giving them something to do. Like the other early morning when they stopped me. Drink Driving check my arse. They never had any equipment with them, just a little patrol car. I've even been told to get out of my car before when I was parked up by the cost watching a DVD. Anyway, enough of the bitching. I'm going to give my baby a nice wax wash tonight on the way home
1st attempt at recording sound. Inside the car (not as good as near the exhaust, but I haven't figured out how to mount it out back) 0-60, or more like a rolling start, anyway http://retroactive.be/0-60.wav
Well, I got my drill back from my mate and the soft sod has knacked the drill bits! So I've only been able to install the back mud flaps since they use existing holes. The front ones need to have holes drilled in to the underside of the wing as well as the tyre housing I'm skint as well so the front ones will have to wait. Anyway, here's a few shots after trying them out down at the waste land near the Japan sea. Notice the crazy colour matching of the back lights? I prefer the normal setting to this odd looking one. The Forester does this too but doesn't look so bad because it uses LEDs. Back - They look a little off ballance but that's due to t he way the car is parked on the rough ground. Close Up - Taken just after putting them on. Side shot Front shot - they sort of stick out which looks cool but it would look a lot nicer if I had the front ones fitted as well
They do look a lot nicer in real life to be honest. They're rally spec or so Subaru say. They're ment to stick out past the body work unlike normal mud flaps. The front ones look fantastic but I can't fit them at the moment. Glad you like my car It's one of the few I've driven that can be as quiet as a kitten when driving normally then turn in to a roaring tiger when you give it some.
I never knew, and just realized that your car is a hatchback. Gaahhh, so good! (my last reply was posted from my phone and thus I didn't have a full view of the pictures... plus I was a bit plastered).
