    Xbox 360 Core System - $299 (299 Euros, 209 GBP)

    Xbox 360 - $399 (399 Euros, 279 GBP)

Price is way way over the 360!

$600. I smell 3d0 price tag all over again.

I saved up $400 to buy a next gen console and I can't even afford the damn system for ps3. Looks like it's Wii fo Mii!

    Thansk Eva--- nice link.
60,000 yen = $537. Not as bad as the whole European thing.

Sony's new controller kind of takes some of the Wii's innovation with it. Should feel like a sidewinder (back in the day for the PC)

I'm not. I mean how many things has Nintendo succeded with and Sony has subsequently ripped off? Rumble and analouge come to mind.

Sorry to say this, although I am a big fan of nintendo, but Sony didn't steal the idea. The microsoft sidewinder controller for the PC had a similar technology years ago, when I was still at school. Sony's new controller is more near to that concept than the Wii's.

The fact that you think that Sony "stole" the idea from Nintendo is just a feeling that it will actually steal part of its market share, relating to the new controller. But hats off, they re doing it in a different way than nintendo's, so it's an alternative product, not a rip-off.

Overall, you might feel sympathetic for nintendo's position, but there are many gamers and developers who like the idea of a free-hand controller, without it being a royalty to a certain company. Sony offers it with a better visual appeal now with the PS3 in exchange for a high price tag. Nintendo has its mascots and quality games to stick by, but for some ideas that I personally have, I would have to go for PS3 development instead of Wii (idealy).

Sony stole the Wii controller and Microsoft's online plan.

Whats next? PSP2 now with dual screens, the bottom being a touch screen?

Kinda pathetic... I'm sure Nintendo is none too happy about this as the "innovation" was their main selling point. Now with Sony stealing their idea and with their price tag ($250? Come on Nintendo), ugh, things are looking good for the big N.

As for the PS3 price... Europe got f'd in the a. Still, with tax that makes the PS3 a $550-660 console.

Tomorrow Nintendo better blow some socks off! I don't really have much hope for Microsoft. I imagine for MS it will be "This is Gears of War which you've known about since before the system launched. This is Too Human. This is Crackdown. Here are some games that are coming out in 2 months. And... here's 2 minutes of Halo 3."

I do, however, predict a $50-100 price drop for the 360 when the PS3 launches.

Now come on Nintendo! Keep the DS rollin' strong and do something impressive with the Wii! [IMG]

Well at $500, no matter how much i love my psp and enjoyed ps2/ps1, I think i am waiting a bit before buying one.

Wii on the other hand i will buy because deap down, i'm still a nin fanboy at heart.

The motion sensor in the microsoft sidewinder controller only detects the rolling and pitching, not the up and down showed with the duck demo...

The rip-off may hurt their cred in the long run. I can guarantee no one is going to laud sony for such a move. Actually, I like the sound effects in the controller idea. It takes rumble to a new level and adds surround sound. how cool would it be to hear stabbing effects and blood squirting right in front of you, or the sound of a racket hitting a ball.

Nevertheless, if anything, Nintendo took the idea from Microsoft, and then Sony can be said to evolve the microsoft idea, as they re not changing the standard controller arrangement.

The depicted controller is a PC/USB controller released many many years ago by Microsoft, think N64-era.

$500 base price? Wiimote features? XBox Live knockoff for an online service?

All I can think of to say is that im quite dissapointed in Sony. If it wasn't for FFXIII I'd say I havn't seen/heard anything today for PS3 at all that I like (though i'm a bit confused on the whole multi-part thing that game has going).

The sidewinder uses the motion sensor as a replacement of the D-pad, both couldn't be used at the same time, the Wii controller and the PS3 one are really different from the sidewinder...Just try playing a tennis game with the sidewinder, it really wasn't designed for that...
