The interviewer asked the MS Rep how gamers with unreliable or no Internet connectivity could use the Xbox One.

The MS rep dismissively replied that MS already has an offline gaming device - the Xbox 360.

 

I guess they do not like the bad PR

The biggest argument against Xbox One is that once the xbox servers go down in a few years, your left with a brick. All those games in your collection will be unplayable.

As for whether the xbox PR will be fired, I think they need to start from the top down. The two guys (sorry don't know their names) who introduced the console in the 1st conference and probably lead the whole project, they should be canned immediately. These two clowns singlehandedly destroyed the xbox brand that has existed for 10 plus years.

 

I know I'd can Mattrick if I was in charge. That response was unbelievable.

I am not so sure on the people who lead the project though. I assume that if you get to the point where you are helping to create game systems then there is some gamer in them. All this DRM stuff to me feels like it was mandated from bean counters and higher ups outside the division and even though people working on the XBone knew what the response would be (someone there had to) they had to go along with it.

Shit rolls downhill and all that.

 

After the Adam Orth spectacle, I think it'd be hilarious if Mattrick also lost his job so soon after.

 

Ohhhhh, that makes everything better then! When I want to play my XBO games offline I'll just use my 360! Lmao!

 

I swear Keighley should've followed that up with:

"Oh, wow! So we'll be able to play Halo 5, Killer Instinct, and all the other next gen Xbox One games on our 360s? That's great news!"

Matrick is a pompous dick. I can tell he's frustrated with all the (justified) hate the Xbox One is getting, but did they honestly believe that this would go over well with everyone?

 

Just put him in the same room with David Cage and Phil Fish, the sheer amount of smug douchiness should cause them all to spontaneously combust.

 

I hear a lot of people arguing that the Xbox One has better exclusives, and it's starting to cloud my judgment. The fanboy in me wants to be able to play Halo 5. And Sunset Overdrive looks pretty interesting.

Quick, someone argue me back to PS4.

 

You'll play your exclusives for a few weeks and then what? Is that enough to justify buying the console? As long as people don't mind paying full price for games, accept that they'll lose their value and run the risk of them becoming unplayable down the line, then the criticisms of the XBO shouldn't be much of an issue for people.

 

Well at least XBO gives the hackers good reason to crack it wide open first thing get rid of DRM

 

Another Bonus for PS4 user, guess what ? PS4 is incredible small ! Almost smaller than PS2. This getting even better and better for PS users.

I have no problems with any company but they are earning their problems with the crap they are trying :stupid:

XBO probably needs all that space for air flow and cooling lol.

 

But XBOX one outsources everything to the cloud. The System needs the cloud or it won't work none of it's games will be awesome without the power of the cloud.

 

Who knows, maybe I guess.

 

Well, the 360 had all those heat issues with weakened x clamps and bad solder joints, eventually leading to more ventilation in the slim model. PS3 never really had these issues besides the odd few cases of YLOD and even the slim model of the PS3 had limited ventilation. It's not surprising to me to see tons of ventilation on the XBO and yet again limited ventilation on the PS4, it mirrors past levels of quality control and methods employed to resolve issues. I assume all that ventilation on the XBO is because of past lessons learned that the 360 overheats like crazy, Sony just seemed better over all at managing heat issues inside the console. Not entirely sure why that's just the way it seems to me.
