Even though the PS4 looks like a eraser, it still looks pretty nice. I even like the look of the XBOX One, just the whole design of how it works is stupid.

    Some interesting reads:

I've been thinking like this for a while. I know video games are a relatively young medium, but they should look at the movie or music industry... "Indie" is not a dirty word there. Yeah, big budget productions are making money, but for every one of those success stories, there are 5 about a low budget work hitting big.

The video game ecosystem is different (devs/publishers can't go on tour to support a record or rely on movie theaters to push marketing), and the consoles NEED AAA titles to differentiate themselves from PC's and other consoles, but the days of small, independent dev teams are going to be coming (or are already) back, because these days, not many can afford to make AAA titles anymore.

^^^ Had to link to this made me laugh. The best part is I bet Microsoft is going to have to make a video about how to share games and this sony one will pop up right along side it when people go and look for it.

I don't know lol, but I bet £1,000,000 that it won't have Mel Gibsons likeness either because a new Mad max film is in production...should still be a awesome game hopefully.

I'm into the whole post-apocalyptic sci-fi genre so hopefully it will be something to look forward to.

I'm not sure about that. The way things are going lately, expect a "Special Classic Mad Max Skin" DLC for those who pre-order.

I'm still very amaze that my original 2005 XBOX360 model (without HDMI) still works to this day ! Well... only that because I barely ever use it. I only completed Halo 3, Gear of war 1 and Gotham Project racing 4 so far in eight years total.
All my friends were Xbox user back in the day and they had a very serious problem with RROD and Error 45 aswell, also some malfunction XBOX360 controller too. Amount of money they spent to buy a new/replace XBOX360 over years is unbelievable.

I still had a original PS3 60GB model in late 2006 and I used it many many hours on end like using DVD, Blu-ray, Netflik, PS1,PS2 and PS3 games. It still work flawlessly to this very day. PS3 are such a reliable console, sure there is a little percentage on YLOD but no where near close as RROD percentage.

To be honest, XBOXone is just bad as it is now, I kinda of starting to like my XBOX360 for some odd reason.

Just saw this on arstechnica: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/06/microsoft-defends-the-xbox-ones-licensing-used-game-policies/

Interview with Yusef Mehdi, he was the microsoft speaker at the 1st conference who was so into his sports fantasy league.

"I think it's fair to say there's a segment of consumers at this show in particular who really pay attention, who are very passionate about all aspects of gaming, and that we listen to closely. In a broader set of community, people don't pay attention to a lot of the details. We've seen it in the research, we've seen it in a lot of the data points."

What hes saying here is that the hardcore gamers pay attention to all the details about used games, the casuals do not and their research and data points show they are ignorant and that is a good thing. That is unbelievable.

"For one, a family member doesn't have to be a "blood relative," he said, eliminating the extremely unlikely possibility that the Xbox One would include a built-in blood testing kit. For another, they don't have to live in the primary owner's house—I could name a friend that lives 3,000 miles away as one of my "family members" Mehdi said. You'll be able to link other Xbox Live accounts as having shared access to your library when you first set up a system and will also be able to add them later on (though specific details of how you manage these relationships is still not being discussed). The only limitation, it seems, is that only one person can be playing the shared copy of a single game at any given time."

So I could have a family member 3000 miles away to share access to my games to. So what happens when I want to play one of my games that I paid for and I can't because the person on the other end who I'm sharing the game with is playing it instead? I'm probably over looking some aspect to the way this feature works in this criticism, but that just sounds rather stupid. Unless I can deny access to the other person and boot them off the game when I want to play, that just sounds like it's going to cause a whole lot of issues.

"This is a big change, consumers don't always love change, and there's a lot of education we have to provide to make sure that people understand."

The point to be made is that not all change is good. Consumers don't like change if the services you offered us before is better than the services you're offering us now.

"Publishers, of course, have been the most forceful proponents of cutting off the used game market, with some suggesting that used games are comparable to piracy for their bottom line. But Mehdi said that Microsoft wasn't simply "giving in" to publisher demands with its new game licensing terms. Instead, it was trying to balance the needs of its four main "constituents," including the consumer (who comes "first and foremost" he said), game publishers, retailers, and Microsoft itself as a company."

Obviously the consumer comes "first and foremost," that's why the console's infrastructure is geared towards publishers and Microsoft, not the consumers or retailers. Come on Microsoft, you surely don't expect us to eat this crap up.

If I was Microsoft CEO (not if I was Steve Balmer) I'd fire the entire XBOX Staff. Push the XBOX one back 6 months, Rehire as many people from the XBOX and 360 team have them remove always on line and do any enhancements they can to make it compeitive with PS4 and Release it in May just before E3 with as many of the games that were showed off at this year's E3.

BUT Microsoft are idiots so the XBOX one is going to be released obsolete out of the Box. Anything that relies on the Cloud is instantly obsolete.

I don't understand this sharing games business. So I allow someone, a "family member," on the opposite side of the world the opportunity to share a game on the cloud, but only one of us can play at a time. So how exactly do I get that game back? Do I simply remove them from the list? What if they happen to be playing the game at the time? Will it kick them from the game? Or do they actually have to "return" the game to me on the cloud? It was a lot simpler when I just went round a friends house and got the disc back, I'm not sure how I'm going to get a digital download out of an Xbox when someone refuses to give it back. That doesn't even sound like lending or sharing, they're essentially just streaming something from a cloud of games that I don't even own.

I think that once you lend or share a game to a member in your family group, its theirs to keep until they share it back. Or theres a time limit on sharing. Or microsoft is being so vague that it doesn't matter anyway since nobody in their right mind would buy this piece of junk and trying to figure it out is a waste of time.

Neveless I think PS5 will have DRM just like Xboxone. Let face it sooner or later it will happen eventually. Physical copies to Digital copy.
I guess few months after Xboxone release Microsoft will drop DRM and block used game.
I really starting to think about selling my high end PC gaming rig Gtx680 to get a PS4. I barely used a PC gaming anyaway.

Trick to keeping the PS3 alive is knowing the fan reverse feature and doing it once in a while.

Like it says you always have access to your games, and If for example your playing Street Fighter 5, one other person can "share it" Simultaneously.

So I can play a game, share it with someone else and we can play each other with the shared "copy" of the game? Doesn't that mean you and a friend could just half the retail cost between you and forever share games?
