With all the mess and restrictions on xone games the only way they can have success is by an uber aggressive pricing of the games themselves...

Something like ALL titles priced between 15 and 30$... After all this is to protect from piracy... If theres less piracy and no used games price will drop right? (LOL as if it would ever happen :D )

I never used that feature, Some say that would overheat more than it does and it doesn't really help that why it doesn't shown in manual book in the first place. I away keep my PS3 in open good space.

Geolocking is just region locking going mental. If you're not in one of those 21 countries, don't even bother importing a console. It simply won't work.

All the hate Sony got this gen by removing OtherOs and other features on the PS3, will now be towards Microsoft. Also have been reading that indie devs are going PS4 because they can self-publish their games. Microsoft on the other hand still requires them to find a publisher. Read it here:
    http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06...n-leaning-towards-playstation-4-over-xbox-one

Honestly, i don't remember an E3 showing so many differences between two companies.

    EDITED: Another interesting fact:

PS4: Publishers Decide if Free-to-Play Needs PS Plus
    http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/13/ps4-publishers-decide-if-free-to-play-needs-ps-plus

"As far as free-to-play games are concerned, it’s a publisher’s decision whether they put it inside or outside of the PlayStation Plus requirements," he said.

Free-to-play games for the PlayStation 4 that won't require you to have a PlayStation Plus subscription are currently confirmed to include DC Universe Online, PlanetSide 2, Blacklight: Retribution and Warframe.

    ---

So this means these F2P games won't require Plus to be played online. Makes sense.

PS: Sorry about the IGN links.

Can someone explain to me why Import/ region gaming is disable, what the purpose of that, sure can't hurt or affecting sales right ? XBOX360 is region lock since I bought games while I was in Orlando Florida and brought back to UK and found out it was region locked which I didn't know at the time because I always did the same with PS3 games from US have no problem what so ever. Since XBOX360 is region locked, pretty much I knew would happen to XBOXone before Press conference.

    Off topic

otherOS removed is hilarious and I understand why Sony would have do that , silly hackers whine like a little baby ! before that happen, nobody cares about otherOS and quite frankly you can do that PC anyway. Many had said they bought PS3 just to use the otherOS feature... silly I have to say.

Games are priced differently in different regions. Region locked systems discourage people from importing all games from the regions where they are cheaper. It also gives control over regional rights. This is less of an issue in gaming, but it means more in terms of TV shows & movies. ie. Company X has distribution rights to a movie in the US, but company Y has rights in Europe. Seems silly in 2013, but it's all about making money. That's why you sometimes see the message in youtube "this video isn't available in this country."

OtherOS wasn't used in the gamer community, but it was used in scientific research. The ps3 has a lot of raw computing power for the price. PS2 had linux too. I personally used it on ps2, but I now have a computer hooked up to my TV, so I don't care.

We can all debate wheter region locking is good or bad. In my opinion it's bad for the customer side. If i'm buying an official product, by the same company, just another division, i don't think there's a problem with that.

    Anyway, another good read:

Sony’s media content policy: “if you buy it, you own it”
    http://www.vg247.com/2013/06/14/sony-media-content-policy-if-you-buy-it-you-own-it/

“You could argue that it’s a storm in a teacup – a very vocal minority of passionate gamers,” said House. “This huge outpouring of feeling around the concept of ownership of content. But I have to say I don’t see it that way.

“I think we saw a lightning rod for feeling that has been bubbling up – that doesn’t just apply to games, but to entertainment overall. I think there’s an increasing nervousness about what ownership of content means, in the absence of physical goods. When that nervousness was starting to migrate into control over physical goods that consumers have purchased, that was a bridge too far.

    ...

“It struck us as very odd. We had no intention of changing our position – it hasn’t changed from what it’s been for the last fifteen years. We believe that if you buy it, you own it, you’re able to do with it what you want.
