E3 always brings the hype. Remember the E3 2012 launch trailer for Watch Dogs? Here's a funny video showing the final product https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idA9BEA4Hxs
Pssssh! Why would Microsoft want to do that when the sequel to the game that basically jump-started Xbox Live didn't sell well despite launching a week before Halo 2. </microsoftisretarded>
I would love a new MechAssault! To be honest, though, I way preferred MechAssault over its sequel. I still see it as one of the best Xbox Live games on the Original Xbox. Also, I just watched that Watchdogs video. Pretty disappointed, but I knew they couldn't deliver on what they showed off awhile back (even if the video is just showing the more glaring errors). Still would like to try it, but my interest has dramatically lowered. The physics look awful, & the destructible props look very cheap. Not impressed after what GTA4's RAGE engine brought to the table with Euphoria.
This is the first year I'm not watching the press conferences. Seems I made the right choice Watching Todd's Song reviews on You Tube instead. AND THIS was my 9000th post. Go figure
Microsoft did better this year, no mention of Kinect or tv. All the games were pretty standard to mediocre though with maybe sunset overdrive an exception.
I just feel apathy The 2 PS4 titles I'm most excited about Jamestown Plus and the already released Mercinary kings are small downloadable games. Mortal Kombat X was annouced last week so that pretty much drained me of feeling the hype for anything. Capcom is supposed to announce a new fighter this week I hear. That's pretty much all I'm interested in. I'm sure alot of studios are saving stuff for Eurocon or whatever the Euro E3 is in August and then TGS is in September so there's that. This feels like the least interesting E3 in recent memory.
Best announcement from the MS conference: Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Plus Alpha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_zpM1DadZg HOW AWESOME IS THIS! haha fantastic!
Yeah I have nothing but apathy for that too. Watch me find something to go nuts about when I hear about Sony Annoucements but even then short of Sony getting the rights to Crash Bandicoot back I doubt I'll find anything to go apeshit over on PS4 either. Mortal Kombat X sucked all the E3 Hype right out of me last week.
New Phantom Dust and Crackdown sound good. Sony's presentation should be good unless they announce a new Uncharted game (*yawn*)
They already annouced a new uncharted game and last week said it's being headed up by the Last of Us Crew. The PS4 games that aren't indies I'm interested in were already annouced a year ago, The Order, Shadow of the Beast, Driveclub I doubt they'll rock my pants off with anything new. I still plan on getting a PS4 by the end of the year, just not sure when.
Sony did their best to kill all my interest in Driveclub with their disastrous delays and the fact that it went from being "a sizable chunk of the full game free on PS+ that can be upgraded to the full game for a small fee" to "a glorified demo on PS+ that can be upgraded for the cost of a new game". Besides, Project Cars is looking much better anyway.
There's not much really Sony can annouce that'll make me go nuts. On top of the PS4 games I mentioned there are still tons of PS3 games already annouced I'm excited about. Persona 5 inpaticular.
Yup wombat I'm with you aside from the DR3 SF inspired DLC cosplay the MS briefing was the best part and Phantom Dust and Crackdown 3 but it was overall mediocre so bummed that Shenmue 3 wasn't announced hopefully Sony announces it in their media briefing if not then oh well let bygones be bygones .
PS4 exclusive Shenmue 3 might just knock the E3 hype back into me. There really isn't much that can get me excited unless Capcom's new fighter turns out to be a New Darkstalkers/Rival Schools/SFV. I did get excited when I saw Conker being back in my Twitter feed, then I saw it was just that he's in Project Spark and I was back to not caring.
A new Rival Schools would be a beautiful thing, always loved that games name/idea/character design. Didn't know they announced they would have a new fighting game. As much as I love SF, they should slow down on the crossovers. & let's face it, I don't think many of us are getting too excited over Conker anything unless he is having another bad hair day.
Conferences are over for today, only Nintendo left. Pretty underwhelming all around, mostly a lot of bro gamer zombie stuff. The eras from the mid 80s to mid 90s were a true golden era. It's too bad there's so few games out now that hold a candle to it.
I saw part of the Sony conference. Not much of interest, but I did kind of like that game "No Man's Sky". It had a pretty interesting visual style.
