Luftrausers is tempting but I spent $7 last week on Rainbow Moon Saga.

Good point. I feel like Super Metroid & F-Zero GX can't be topped though, but I'd still love to see more. I am tired of constant Mario & Zelda (not that they don't each have good games). Glad Starfox is getting some love, at least. Maybe another good Super Monkey Ball that could actually follow up to SMB2. Gamecube was the end of really great Nintendo games for me. Hopefully members from that team at Sega can return for a new F-Zero. GX is still my all time favorite racing game.

Some interesting stuff was on the show floor that wasn't highlighted in the presentations at all.

Counterspy, game of show for me along with Batman. It looks fantastic. Sony exclusive and cross platform. One of those sleeper type games that not alot of people picked up on.

Sonic Boom, 3DS version looks pretty good. The Wii U version has slick graphics but the gameplay is horrid.

Anyone see any good games that weren't in the presentations?

    It's in that ball park.

Get the Rope, I have never played Super Metroid.

    I should get on that shouldn't I?

Lets see the 2014 Rev's Beef with Nintendo list.

    Region locking
Mocking fans, portraying them as Nerds
    Treating 3rd parties like shit
    No more F-Zero
Zelda, Mario, Zelda Mario game lineups
Rarely anything that isn't the above said Zelda, Mario, Zelda, Mario.
    No unified online store
    Half Assed online
Mario games announced even when they say they won't announce a New Mario.
Reliance on Hardware Gimmicks over unique ideas in the games themselves.
    Poor promotion
The whole You Tube Debacle, completly ignoring that Let's plays are free publicity for them.
The fact they hide behind attorneys more than any other company.
Lastly, They just aren't trying at this point I genuinely think Nintendo just doesn't give a shit and they feel that no matter how much of the same shit they put out fans will just buy it anyway good or bad, creative or rehash Nintendo fans are so caught up in the same old shit that they'll keep them alive. So why even try to put effort into new ideas?

I hope Splatoon does well and for good reason, if Splatoon does well it'll show Nintendo that people want new ideas from them not the same old shit year in and year out. Nintendo used to put out fun unique distinctly NINTENDO games. Uniracers, Kuru Kuru Kurrin, Starfy, Ouendan, Chibi Robo, Odama, and then games that are just high energy fun like my beloved F-Zero. If Nintendo had announced a New F-Zero I would have made that list, I'd be upstairs right now setting up the Wii U I just bought. Instead I'm just going to wait a few months and get a PS4 where that same creativity I used to love is showing up in the form of the platform that takes the best care of Indie Devs.

As disappointed as I was with Nintendo at E3 for doing nothing to make me feel like I need a Wii U. Microsoft didn't do much to Win me on the One. That Conker Tease was almost as Cruel as Nintendo mocking fans that want Mother 3. I think Microsoft is lower than Nintendo right now on my I could give a shit Meter. The Wii U has a few games I'd probably pick up if Nintendo reversed some Policies. The Cablebox....jack and shit right now.

I wish PC Genjin was in the new Smash Bros. game. That'll never happen, though. Reiko Nagase would be a nice addition too, since they're doing Namco characters now.

This E3 is going down in history as one of the worst, nearly no new games and more CG renders than actual gameplay footage for the few ones that were actually unveiled there

I have to say these expos are almost becoming completely unnecessary, might as well rejoin it with the CES

You (and a lot of people) constantly complain about Nintendo not making new IPs (even when they do). They announce two (three? Does Captain Toad count?), and your response is, "Well they didn't announce a sequel to a series I like so they suck."

Really? Do you not realize how incredibly dumb that is?

As for Metroid, Nintendo said in an interview that they were contemplating the future of both 2D Metroid and Metroid Prime. And Retro wasn't at E3, so we still don't know what they are currently working on.

Look man, from what I understand you weren't there when the Saturn and Dreamcast were alive and well, so I really don't understand where all of this is coming from. Had you been a Saturn/DC supporter during those systems lives, then yeah, I'd understand where you were coming from (somewhat) because yeah, no one is touching the level of awesomeness and creativity that Sega was hitting in those days. A 1st party dev rewriting its first party line-up almost every generation? Insane, and delightful (though a lot of us clamored for Sonic on the Saturn and then NiGHTS and Panzer Dragoon on the Dreamcast, which in retrospect was dumb, should've just been glad Sega was that creative).

But Sega is (for all intents and purposes) dead now, and Nintendo was never on Sega's level when it came to that kind of stuff, so I don't hold Nintendo to that standard. You've got Microsoft and Sony, neither of which are really "gaming" companies, and then you've got Nintendo, a "gaming" company that tends to make very high quality games that are a lot of fun regardless of the IP. Quite frankly, I'm not complaining, and I have no idea why you are.

I'll be buying a WiiU in 2015, until then there's nothing that interests me at all.

Fucking beautiful. But I'd like to add some remarks to that:

-On the Metroid subject, Metroid: Other M (the most recent Metroid game) was probably one of the most poorly received Metroid titles (and even most maligned mainstream Nintendo titles in general) in years, so I'm guessing part of Nintendo's "contemplating the future of Metroid" is figuring out how not to make another game that pisses off a great deal of fans.
-In the new Nintendo IPs, you forgot Wonderful 101, one of the more significant new IPs for the WiiU; that game was fucking awesome. It's a shame it didn't sell better holy fuck maybe that's exactly why Nintendo hesitates to break away from their big money-makers nowadays.
-To be fair, the marketing for the WiiU has been absolutely atrocious (if you wanna count the name of the console as "Marketing", it speaks volumes that there are still people who believe it to be an add-on for the Wii). Also, when I watch TV with advertisements like some sort of peasant, I rarely see ads for the WiiU and see way more for XBone/PS4; but then again that could just be my personal experience.

Good start, now they just need to put good online modes into games worth playing.

The only real announcement that nobody knew about that I was happy with was LBP3.

I was pretty disappointed by Other M. It had a lot of potential, but it just wasn't very good. I preordered it, and I got the special edition with the art book and stuff the day it came out. The graphics were pretty good and it had an interesting visual style, but the gameplay kind of sucked. The idea of mixing 2D and 3D gameplay was interesting, but it didn't work very well. It made moving around very awkward, and consequently the game wasn't very fun to play. I loved pretty much every other game in the series, including Super Metroid (I never played the original Metroid), the GBA games, and the Metroid Prime series. I even have Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii (I bought it the day it came out), which is pretty rare and highly sought after now. But Other M was a big disappointment for me, which is too bad, because the idea of Team Ninja and Nintendo working together to make a Metroid game seemed like an awesome idea. I ended up selling it on eBay.

Oh, it's always ready. I'd rather just have you play it, though.

You don't need to play the original. ( ;] )

I was disappointed as well. The idea of a 2.5D Metroid works in the mind, but was just clumsy in its execution. The return of the Speed Booster excited me, but also didn't live up to Super Metroid. I think a truly 2.5D Super Metroid Remake that is still purely two dimensional in its game play could survive in today's climate. It would have to be damn good, however.

I also agree with the opposite side, how Super Metroid is still just as satisfying today as it was when it was released, & that it needs no update in graphics or sound, but that is shot down easily by the fact that if a remake doesn't live up to the original, you just play the original.

Damn, look at how much I love SM. . . . The bias is obvious, but it really is a superb action adventure exploring for items that open new areas with amazing music and atmosphere type of games.

I have been waiting for Luftrausers for awhile. Thanks for reminding me.
