    Hello guys!
i haven't been posting much lately, but i had a bad experience on ebay with someone that i later figured was an Assembler member so i had to come out about this and share. The story went as follows:
I sold a rare complete copy of Ocean Commander (phoenix games) for the ps2 to some guy called Gooner692 on ebay. The sale went smoothly and he paid the agreed amount fast with no problems. I shipped the item 3-4 days after the sale. Here is where the things went south:
My package got delayed because of the Greek-Orthodox Easter Holidays. Everything including postage and transports got stifled and delayed! The buyer asked me about the Tracking Number but i already had left my hometown for vacations without taking the tracking receipt with me. He opened a claim after 1,5 weeks of postage! (too soon)
When i arrived in Athens i sent him the tracking and also posted it on the ebay sales page. He then proceeded to escalate the claim!!!!!! Just when he received the confirmation he intentionally escalated the case in order to keep both the game and the money!!
After a while paypal took action and made my account useless and my life difficult for another 1 and a half week!
Some days ago i checked back at the tracking and it says that the game has arrived to its destination!!!
Now I am left with a negative feedback (from gooner692 who thought it would be wise to also destroy my reputation after emptying my pockets), with no game and with 150euros debt to ebay!
He was also really rude and uncooperative via messages!!!
BEWARE!!!! This guy will not hesitate to claim he did not receive and keep both your items and the refunds!!

You should've given the buyer the tracking number as soon as you sent the item.

Anyway, contact eBay support (by phone) and explain the situation. You have proof the item was delivered.

here is his Assembler account: http://assemblergames.com/l/members/gooner692.102169/
Maybe if you spam his wall/messages enough he will refund me...

I appealed the claim and they said that i was out of the estimated delivery dates. As if ebay knows all the delivery dates and special occasions in the whole world at any given time.... sigh
Ebay doesn't give a shit if it was delivered or not they just don't want to pay you back.

Get a statement from your post office stating the package was delayed due to your country's holiday.
Like I said, PHONE eBay. Their online messaging staff are not that reasonable. Same goes for PayPal.

There is no "ebay phone number". Customer service is horrendous. When you call it redirects you to the site

Contact support, and ask for their phone number then. They have to have one surely. eBay AU has one, along with PayPal.
    Otherwise, call PayPal.

"out of estimated delivery dates", that's why it's called an estimate, not guaranteed delivery date.

They do have one, you have to ask for it via messaging first. But they only give you a US number. And that's an expensive phone queue to be stuck in for a european.

I got through in 3 minutes yesterday when I called in, I got the number and the 7 digit code right from the website to call in. It's a 1-800 number so I don't think it's expensive.
Also whenever stuck with reaching a human, I always suggest gethuman.com

1-800 numbers only work in US/Canada.
They give you a normal number if you're calling from outside of the USA.
Calling US numbers is significantly more expensive than regular local calls.

Sorry to hear that :( I almost ended up in a similar mess but luckily the person I sold the item to was honest- it just took longer than expected to get there.
I will still never ever do untracked shipping overseas again...
Had to contact ebay by phone once, different matter, in the end it took me longer to figure out how to find the number. Got it resolved but yeah ebay don't give a fuck about the sellers

For christ sake, CONTACT EBAY! Why did it take you 21 days to open an appeal?! And, as everyone has said above, PHONE THEM. Your local site will have the number, e.g. for the UK:

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/aboutebay/contact.html

    Likewise, PayPal:

    https://www.paypal.com/selfhelp/contact/call

I'm really sorry you got scammed. You've posted a message here to make us aware to avoid the buyer. Please don't ask users to be vigilantes and spam the user, though.

I do have to say, though, it does read you're somewhat at fault...

4 May - You're on holiday and will send tracking no. in 3 days (7 May) when you return.
7 May - You are sorry for the delay and will send tracking no. when you return
Uhh, didn't you return that day?
9 May - Seems you haven't contacted him still, so he opened a case.

Now, of course, the above could just be eBay's summary and you contacted him via a different means other than the claim.. or it just doesn't log everything. Make sure you respond via the claim if it's an option, so eBay can track everything easily.

What you don't mention is what the tracking says now. Perhaps you could take a photograph of the tracking number and provide that?

In future, ALWAYS send the buyer the tracking number immediately. I think there's a provision to enter it on eBay now, even. That's better still as they'll see you provided it. And take a photo of the receipt so you have the details on your phone wherever you go and as backup.

@Gooner692 - would you care to explain your actions and behaviour? Did you receive the item?

No, it's not, you have to contact eBay and stop instigating vigilantism from Assemblergames members.

here are a couple selling tips, you can edit this in the my account, site preferences, buyer requirements. eBay should do a better a job at helping sellers to stay safe from scammers.

    Block buyers who:
    Don't have a PayPal account
    Have received 2 Unpaid Item strike(s) within 1 Month(s)
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower

and always type this in for some protection usually at the bottom of your listing, I recommend choosing to not accept returns or refunds.

    SHIPPING AND AGREEMENT

All items are sold as is with no returns or refunds. We keep our shipping receipts meaning if the item is damaged, lost or stolen in the mail. You're covered through eBay and PayPal's default insurance policy.

Please note: If shipping says it cannot be calculated. Message us with your confirmed pay pal shipping address before buying and we will find out the cost.
