Just after this screen I have a reset game. why?

Anyone have a debug code to pass that?

When I am in front of the flower and push the button to speak there is a reset game !

 

Alright now you're on the right track (in the game, I mean). Now going to the Flower Mountain will continue the game. After you beat that dungeon and come back, Lexis will join your party and you'll get the boat.

As for the cart... I understand why you might be hesitant to release the ROM. That's a genuinely good reason. But the thing is there's so much more to the... well, more like ANY proto, that you can't really get just by playing it through. There could be unused text, areas, graphics in the code inaccessible just by cheat walking and luckily finding a tile that gets you into an unused town (funny, but true). You'd have to actually hack the game to find them. That, and the text is in Japanese, so someone would have to translate it anyway.

As for the price, well, look at how much Earthbound (NES) protos go for even though it's since been dumped and released. Even if you release the ROM they'll still be people who would pay large prices just to have the actual physical cart. Sorry if I'm coming on a bit strong, it's just like so many other people (yourself included), I have fond memories of the game, and would love to play through the proto myself. You're not alone here, we ALL want to dissect the proto (figuratively, not literally) and see what secrets it contains. At least think about it, huh?

As for this, well, you might need to get that guy to fix something again, as that's indeed the dungeon's goal.

 

So you mean you'll be selling the cartridge? Last I saw, the EPROMs themselves on there are damaged, making it unplayable. The only way to play it is to edit a dumped ROM, like people so far have been nice enough to guide you on doing. I don't imagine the cart itself would have much value with all that corrupt data on there. It surely isn't going to be worth so much because of that, unless people like buying corrupt cartridges.

If you have the cart (dump all eproms) and apply all Change Hex values, you can restore the Prototype !

also not to offend, but after the amount of work other people are doing for you just to make the rom even work it seems kind of silly that you're gonna still hoard the rom file up

What do you want exactly?

Did you use debug mode to walk to the flower? There should be a boss fight before you pick it up.

Do not be offended by my saying this, trevormarco, but I agree with derekb. There are other people helping you fix this, giving their all in getting the proto working, and it seems a tad selfish (again, no offense, I'm not saying you are, just describing how it comes off as) to just hoard the ROM considering that. Also, if you can't get in contact with JLukas, perhaps now would be a good time to let someone else look at the game. It'd certainly be easier to have someone looking at potential problems hands-on and knowing how to fix them. Believe me, you're not the only one who wants to find all the proto's secrets. ;-)As for the boss, it doesn't show up in the cutscene (or atleast that's how I remember it, I've been wrong before). They see the flower, then someone's like "Look out for that monster!", and the battle should start from there.

 

Now I can enter in battle just before taking flower. But I don't know why It work now and before NO.

Perhaps one user on this forum can repair all errors of the ROM and we can have all BOSS and enemies on all places on world map! but Who?

 

Is there anyone besides JLukas who has helped you with bugs in the proto so far? Ask them, maybe?

 

I don't know how to fix that. And I think that's the only trigger point for Lexis joining your party.

I'd be glad to investigate the actual rom for other stuff myself though.

Seems like a dick move imo.

As you do not have the skills yourself and constantly ask for help here - I would suggest you reconsider how you treat the people here. You will be unlikely to get much more help.

 

to be honest you have nothing in your hands. If it wasn't for the kindness of people here you would have probably resold the proto you bought for far less then you paiyed and never got to play it even!...

if you want to be recognized release the fixed rom with an hacked intro with your name into and keep the proto as it is for your pleasure or for resale so that it'll retain some value.

 

Or do a fundraising effort if you're wanting to make some cash, though if you try to sell a ROM for more than you paid for the cart, that would be...well, I just wouldn't see that as right or fair at all, since that'd mean you're getting the cart for free and then some.

This is reminding me of RE1.5 somewhat, since I think when that PlaystationMuseum guy had the proto he was asking for all sorts of help and people were doing what they could, only for him to disappear. Far be it for me to say anyone owes anyone anything, we all know people have the right to do with their property as they wish. I just wish in cases like this(which there are few of, admittedly), there were a bit more consideration for all the help someone's getting. Then again, we do have all the music and screenshots, plus video, so we're not completely unrewarded. It's sort of natural to think we had a chance at getting the ROM though, you have to admit

I just hope this topic doesn't turn overly negative from here though. Think there's been enough drama involving protos in the past.

 

He's allowed to do whatever he wants with the cart. People didn't have to help him, but they did. Whether or not he holds onto the cart for himself is his own business really.

It was just some advice, I am one of the people he constantly PM's and based on his actions - I would be reluctant to help him in future. I am sure others will have a similar position and as most of his posts are asking for help - something he should consider.

I have no interest in the rom (proven by the fact I already have it and could get it running with the info in this thread), its just about someones character.

 

I am very happy he did show footage already from a proto that *we* thought we never see again after the corruption. I would personally say the guy that fixed his rom all way deserves the rom for him to play, or whatever he want do with it, but for all other they should be happy they got footage and all that like me and other that didn't help at all.

Also from earlier I think he meant he want sell the rom, not the proto card, so he want indeed make profit over something that someone else from community fixed, which is quiet a bummer since he did nothing to get the rom running.

Anyways, we already got a full world map, all soundtracks (not public, but we got it), tons of the game.. there are worse people around that show nothing at all and just go like kthxbai so for anything he show I'd thank him anyways.
