yes, i will add ability to use analog stick for menu navigation. probably ed64 and 64dd registers mapped in same place, collision makes a problems
On the topic of tiny little things in the interface, it has always seemed odd to me that you have to press start to load the game rather than the A button. Another strange thing I've found is if I unplug the controller while on the ED64 interface the ED64 will load the currently selected game.
Is there a possibility of playing Super Mario unofficial EXPANSION: Star Road? I tried the following file, just play the original audio, no video: http://www.mediafire.com/?6w9s6jb8c3r9qn7 With proyect64 works well Thanks Igor
It's possible and fairly likely that the hack only works on emulators. Emulators allow hacks to do things that aren't how they work on the real console. The only fix is for the hacker to correct their errors.
I'll try it myself later, but I doubt it would work. Even if it does play I remember reading you need to enable a cheat code in order for the camera to work properly and they won't work on the ED64.
hi all. im a total noob, so please excuse me. I have an ED64 V2 and have put all my roms on, i understand how the general idea works but i really dont get how the saving process works. i have a memory card thing for my controller to save, can i not just use that everytime instead of doing the reset procedure? im about to start ocarina of time today for the first time, can i just save to my memory card or am i best doing the reset? what is the reset feature useful for and do i need to use it, is basically what im asking. thanks for any info in advance BTW - an outstanding product at a great price
if game can use controller pack, then you should not press resset, but if game use game pack saves inside of cart, then you should press reset
Wait I'm confused. The FAQ says you can't save to a controller pak but you are saying you can? So if a game requires a controller pack to be saved then as long as I have a controller pak on my controller then I can save right?
game writes saves directly to controller pack, and not to cart. controller pack saves works if you have actual controller pack
Thanks krikzz. I read somewhere if you reset console after saving to a controller pack (not on cart) it can erase your save. is that true? Thanks for your replies krikzz. I was all set to buy 64drive but I can't get a reply from marshall and I finally checked out everdrive. Didn't realize compatibity was basically the same (I can buy banjo tooie, no big deal.) And I haven't found a report but I'd be willing to bet 64drive can't play rtc games either. I believe you just sold another everdrive Couple more questions. Since we can update the firmware via sd card would I even need the usb option on v2? If its just a thing for coders I can skip out on it. Also does retrogate.com ship to the US? Board with cic and shell is much cheaper there than at stoneagegamer.
Yeah they ship to the US, that's where I got mine. The reason stoneagegamer is more expensive is because you get a custom painted shell, custom labels, an SD card, manual, and a case for it. From retrogate, you just get it in a gray shell with no label, that's it. I didn't want to spend as much as stoneagegamer was charging, and was fine with just the cart, but his stuff looks really nice. Whenever the SD2SNES gets released, I'm planning on getting it from him.
cart not erase saves, but you may lost last progress, if reset will not be pressed, but if games use controller pack, then you can turn off without reset, in any moment. reset need if game used gamepack saves. while reboot, os performs data copy from internal volatile memory, to SD card. so, don't forget to push reset, before you've go to sleep, in case if game use gamepack saves usb version for development only, usb not need for firmware update. retrogate ship to worldwide
Got a few questions. 1. Since this comes with a USB option for programmers, is it possible to enable net play for games in a future OS and/ or firmware update? 2. Since my ED64 V2 came from Retrogate, does it have the software or do I need to get it from somewhere and will it cost me extra? It has no SD card from them. I plan to supply my own for my own custom sizing needs. Need to know these things for future uses and getting setup once it arrives.
Not all ED64 have USB. Its for developers only. ED64 doesn't require any software besides the OS file, which is available on both krikzz.com and everdrive.us.
Maybe you did, most people don't. Also internet play would require the ROM to be hacked to allow some type of syncing.
