Great find! That also fixes Rakuga Kids (had the same problem as DN64), but it doesn't fix Battle Tanx - that requires setting the PI_BSD_DOM1 regs. Between the two fixes, I haven't seen anything fail to start from launch now.
sound great, just bought the Super everdrive and everdrive, both great bits of kit. will this work with the gampacks?
sound lik i need to clean my n64 for the upcoming everdrive 64, though my n64 is very clean but not perfect.
ed64 can run games from oter region, but ED64 himself can work only in one of two systems(PAL or NTSC), so customer should choice PAL or NTSC version, or just buy board without CIC and intall CIC6102 for NTSC or CIC7101 for PAL
You could probably but you'd have to do it yourself. I don't think krikzz will be offering them setup like that for purchase.
i think the best option would be for krikzz to provide a socket not just solder points on the bored for the region chip that would make setting it for PAL or NTSC much simpler the region chips are 6 pin chips right?
for what? you have a PAL and NTSC systems and want to use both of them? can't see any sence. i not really like solutions in cheap chinese style "all in one". two sd connectors for sd and micro sd cards, two cic slot etc. put in the board all that is possible and not forget about small culler for for air condi in hot days, also will be good to see voice switch for remote on/off system by voice design should be clean :love2:
slot not a problem, but you will not be able to close shell if chip will be installed in socket. total height too huge
There are two possible situations: 1) If you have two N64 systems from different regions(PAL/NTSC) and want to use the Everdrive for both you can install both a PAL and a NTSC CIC and switch between them. You only have to switch one line. Here are some images of my Neo Myth card and my guess is that it will work the same way with the Everdrive64 You can see which pin you have to switch in the first picture. 2) If you got only one N64 (either PAL or NTSC) and want to play roms from both regions then you can always patch out any country checks with a program called paladin. Some games don't even have region checks.
This is kinda what I was thinking so it was possible to use a 6102 and a 6105 to have a complete working unit....just a thought, though. Would that be possible, or even useful?
those enthusiasts who ready to install 6105 only for play in banjo tooie always could go by sanni's way. i still can't see any sence for make switch and pads for second cic. also as far as i know 6105 enough for play all games, so this idea looks strange. other problem it is cart menu, because menu designed for 6102 and i should keep second copy for 6105 and switch them by some jumper on PCB
With the Everdrive 64 and the 64DD(EDIT 64Drive whoops) coming out I think someone will patch Banjo Tooie
no worries, at first I thought maybe someone was making some kind of 64dd diskette flashdrive wizard device
