I don't known if ED64 will have this issue, but the issue with the CIC chip and the N64 Myth has to do with rebooting the game. You can only reboot to the game if the CIC matches the one the game wants; with a 6102, all 6102 games will reboot to the game without issue. When you use a 6105 chip, the simulated pif boot starts the game, but when you reboot, you now have a 6102 game trying to reboot with a 6105 chip, which fails. Ditto for the reverse - with the 6102 chip, you can't reboot to the game on 6105 games.
Chilly Willy i wonder why your myth menu flashram code use dual write cycle for block write? i mean 2x block write , 2x set offset, 2x execute cmd FRAM_WriteBlock: copy 128 bytes set write offset execute cmd copy 128 bytes set write offset execute cmd end
So if i get a pal ed64 and use it on a pal n64 will it run ntsc games on the pal system? (i should have made the question more clear a few pages back).
There seems to be a number of questions about PAL/NTSC compatability for N64 games, so I thought it might be helpful to copy and paste a small part of a guide I wrote last year (Google 'NEO N64 Myth Flash Cart User Guide by Link83' to find full guide) [Doesnt the forum have show/hide tags?]
My question is about save and folders Will you be able to save a game, download another save from the internet and replace it ? I believe the super everdrive and the everdrive for the genesis can do it. I asked something similar but didn't got a straight forward answer so I'm a little lost. The 199 items per folder limitation in previews everdrives is gone in the ED64 ?
well see there are 2 of the 5 pall only release game that i want to play game 1. taz express, i am a big looney tunes fan cause looney tunes was my favorite cartoon as a child . second would be 40 winks don't know much about it just want to play it.
The US version of Taz Express was completed but not released, however a proto (final) version was dumped a while ago, try searching for "Taz Express (USA) (Proto).n64" ;-)
But two of those DSP games are the best the SNES has to offer in many people's opinion. Super Mario Kart an Pilot Wings are must have games. It would be another matter if it were Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball and Shaq Fu. Banjo Tooie and Jet Force are both very good games by Rare. A way to get them to work on this cart would be a good thing. A crack would be the cheaper way to go of course. Sure the carts are cheap and I personally own most of the games I enjoy for every system, but that kind of defeats the purpose imo. One cart to run (rule) them all!
??? Can you be more specific about what function you mean? The menu doesn't have a function to write FRAM. Currently, the menu writes sram knowing that the fram emulation takes the sram loaded normally.
Chilly Willy never mind ED64 not limited. saves works as on emulator, so you just should put in save folder save file which called same as rom. there is only one problem: emulators use different byte order for save file, so may be need to flip byte order
I loved Monaco Grand Prix on the N64 (I didn't care too much for F1 World Grand Prix due to the strange steering system of the game). So the desire to play the sequel to Monaco Grand Prix has been strong for a decade now. So will F1 Racing Championship work on a NTSC system? The faq makes it sound like it shouldn't be a problem, but that long reply explaining to everyone about PAL and NTSC and how it affected the N64 seems to suggest it might not be happening even with this device. Is he correct even though it's contradicting what your website says? I'd also like to give F1 World Grand Prix II a try as well, even though the original wasn't much fun to play because of the way steering was implimented (Which thankfully no other developer has ever tried to emulate in a racing game). So it's a concern here and not something I want to write off as being unimportant. The website says the following... "If your N64 is NTSC, PAL software will either autodetect and run fine, or show a region notice. Same goes for the reverse. I'm adding an option to force it either way. Then you should be able to run anything in any region." Will F1 Racing Championship in particular work on a NTSC system? Playing that game on my NTSC system is the primary reason I'm interested in this device since I already have the 60 or 70 domestic releases I ever wanted to try. If it will, will my NTSC N64 still be outputting a NTSC video signal when playing F1 Racing Championship? Thanks
