very nice Krikzz the progress has been very quick and amazeing also this might help you enjoy your beer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-jOEAufDQ4 PS: beer is good and stuff
I have been looking this forum over month now, many times per day. And now waiting is over, thank you very much KRIKzz! By the way, how is saving works? Do it save on memory card on the controller or just only to the sd card? I think there is no real time saving? But that's no matter, becouse there is no real game saving normally. Do the 8 GB SD card working?
saving will presumably be the same as on other Everdrive carts, in that: if playing same game, your saves stay in flash memory when you decided to load new game, the current save in flash memory is written to the SD card, and then save data for the new game you are playing is loaded from SD to flash memory
no realtime saves, only regular gamepack saves, and controller pack of course. all save data stored to sdram or in internal fpga memory, when you want to stop playing, you should push reset before power off, in this moment save data will be copied to SD card. save will stored in ED64/SAVE/****.sra and later if game will be choiced again, then save data will be copied automatically from sd to sdra or fpga buffer. simply user should press reset before power off and should not care about something else on this moment ED64 support next saves type: eeprom2k, eeprom16k, sram 32kbyte, sram 128kbyte. unfortunatelly flashram not implemented yet. may be will be implemented later via firmware update
oh, ED64 not using flashram to store save like EDMD? so pushing reset is required to save otherwise you will lose data?
That sounds great! So saving works properly on every game! Will Sdhc cards work? I have got 8Gb sdhc card..
Wasn't trying to make it out as a big deal, just asking since I didn't remember it being mentioned before
edmd and other my carts use fram (Ferroelectric RAM) for save, but i not use fram for ed64 because it will increse price a lot
I see, hopefully I will remember to press reset when i get far, maybe I should write a post note on power button
some carts from first batch will be sold via retrogate, also some quantity will be sent to stoneagegamer and to other distributors
