I also agree with StoneAge. I always run into people on their soap box about flash carts and piracy and how it effects game publishers. I also hate when they use the "It is on Virtual Console" or "XBOX Live Arcade" argument too. In reality the Everdrive doesn't hurt sales on VC or Live, because the vast majority of normal people would rather play the games on their current gen consoles than the real thing. You aren't going to find hundreds of thousands of people who are willing to buy a Genesis at a garage sale so they can get an Everdrive and play Sonic again. That is reserved for dorks like us. And we are a niche group. We are even outnumbered by the purists who must only play the real carts. And both purists and flash cart guys are outnumbered by emulator guys...
Agreed. For me, the convenience of having the Everdrive with a bunch of games on it makes it easier so I don't have to dig out ALL my games just to play, say, 5 minutes to remind me how much I loathed getting the game or to finish up OoT...again.
Outstanding! I already have all the N64 games that I want, but these carts are invaluable for traveling abroad.
N64 + Expansion Pak = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoO0Cif72vY Impressive, I hope the everdrive will be able to run this.
did you know the SD association actually has a free version of the 3.00 SD HOST spec? so you dont have to pay the 2000 a year to get access to the host spec nor dose an " unofficial " firmware need to come out you get get it right from the SD associations website http://www.sdcard.org/developers/tech/sdcard/pls/
i read docs and see that some SD card can transfer UP to 104Myte/sec (SDR104 mode) this is crazy :-0 looks like my current dessign supported only with DS mode(12Mbyte/s) or HS mode(25Mbyte/s) , but it more than enough for cartridge! so who can say that SD is slow!?
yah they can get crazy fast the higher the class and they can also have huge capacity also the SDHC versions support up to 32 gigs but generally SDHC is for cards larger then 4 gig the brand new version SDXC can support up to 2 TB :-0 im glad your getting good use out of the documentation  its all thanks to the Linux community needing drivers for SD hosts so the association created this simplified version to satisfy the need for basic support also i dont think we would really need any crazy fast transfer speeds at least for the everdrive64
I didn't checked the nickname of the maker of this demo, now I realize it's (one of?) the maker of the 64drive. Personally I'll certainly buy both the 64drive and the n64everdrive since they'll certainly both have specific advantages.
Actually the free spec (I suggested this a page back) is now available because the protocol was reverse engineered so the association was forced to save face. It's simple enough that joining was never about that, for one being a member allows you the use of the logo and gives you access to DRM.
