http://www.fastsilicon.com/latest-news/microsoft-admits-all-xbox360s-are-defective.html?Itemid=60 Sorry to tell, your 360 can die anytime... not original, but official this time.
Happy I sold mine on time before this news came out it would of made it a little harder to sell I guess lol.
It is actually black-humorous irony, not a joke or anything to make fun of the HIV virus. It seems that all 360s have a defect that works like a deadly disease, they work fine without knowing they have it but unfortunately they are all going to die once the infection begins.
That shit is taken out of context Idiots kill 360s first off Bach sold a ton of his MS stock he must be a bitter employee http://www.destructoid.com/bach-dum...alled-and-wants-its-scandals-back-34995.phtml Also here's the truth about red rings http://www.destructoid.com/could-su...se-of-red-rings-on-your-xbox-360--34605.phtml
sorry GodofHardcore but the power strip thing is just a theory and even if that is the case it is still M$'s fault Everyone just needs to face microsoft screwed up even microsoft admits they screwed up Its not just idiots it is a huge problem with all 360s The 3 year warraty doesnt even cover the gpu problems or any other problem unless it shows the three rings
Hmmm? I love that these things are immediately taken as "the truth" rather than just another opinion formed by individuals. Microsoft have admitted their units are unreliable and have stated it is "unacceptable". So, the suggestions that the end users are at fault is just BS! Consider the fact that the 360 has become one of (if not THEE) least reliable gaming console to date, with statistical evidence to prove that this is the case (33%+ of 360 units sold were returned to retail outlet within 30 days of purchase). Those statistics are bound to be much higher as a large proportion of consoles actually become faulty outside that 30 day window and were NOT taken into account by Microsoft. So, if the massaged figures are "unacceptable" then the genuine figures are more likely to be too embarrassing for Microsoft to publicly admit. They have a reputation to maintain and a games console to keep shifting. Don't you find it odd that they are dishing out a 3 year warranty now as standard? That kind of says "we are NOT confident this unit will survive beyond it's 3rd birthday". They'd given themselves a deadline to resolve the issues and hopefully the recently announced "Falcon" motherboard / chip set is the answer. Either that or everybody and his dog is an idiot and only those who have NOT had issues with their consoles thus far are genuinely intelligent enough to use the product safely. Microsoft have set aside $1.5billion to resolve the problem. I think that means "suspect theory" denied.
Or thoes who don't have issues dont actualy use their 360. I must admit, I have not really played my 360 ever since I got my ps3. I'm too afraid of it breaking on me out of the blue. Since my 360 is an import, I have no warenty. If it breaks I am 100% totaly ***ked hard with no lube.:crying:
Sorry I edited it, but hey, still comes out the same... Re: "****ed hard with no lube"... my eyes watered at that. Ouch!
people that claim 360's die because of the user piss me off. MS used to have this same attitude, blaming 360 failures on the same people they sold a poorly designed console to, all while charging them to fix it. The 360 is flawed by design, which is shown by the fact that MS is stuffing extra heatsinks into the ones they repair. So yes, every 360 made to date is vulnerable to the same problems. I replaced my dying one at Best Buy through their warranty, and realize that my new one could die tomorrow for the same exact reason. That's not even the worst thing about it. If it dies due to a problem not indicated by the red rings, I will still have to pay MS to fix it. How shitty is that? This console generation is truely retarded. I have zero interest in the Wii, the 360 is a shitty console, and the ps3 is run by morons.
That's not the only reason they go bad. Avoid hitting the power and eject buttons within close proximity of each other, rapidly turning on or off the console, or doing things like removing controllers while the game is booting, saving, or ejecting.
This is a real problem for the 360 imo the design just sucks since so many break a year theres really no point in keep producing them till they fix the problem and its alright saying they will extend the years but then they make you pay for shipping.
Not every one is defective, that article makes assumptions that probably for legal reasons had to be addressed if you were to write it down as a loss in their books. It's just a blanket amount in case of the worse case scenario.
Well Mr Gates... I mean GodofHardcore - Microsoft have themselves concluded design faults are the cause of the problems. I run all my consoles on a surge protection strip and my XB360 died soon after purchase. Now, people here might argue with me, but I'm not an idiot - at least not in the sense of being mentally slow or technically inept. My XB360 died because it was badly made. No other electronic item I own that is or has been used on a surge strip has ever broken because it was plugged into a surge protector. The 90% of XB360 owners were running their XB360 on a surge protector because that is the SAFE thing to do. It has absolutely no valid cause for system failure. Spikes and glitches in non-protected power supplies are far more likely to FUBAR a games machine. The reason XB360's die is because of poor heat management. Plain and simple. Microsoft are doing the right thing and admitting it, then replacing the machines that are screwed. They messed up. Don't worry though, it doesn't mean the XB360 doesn't have great games though, your fanboy dreams have not been broken!
Worst comment of the day I took good care of my 360 then right on the day the warranty ran out and this is no joke it died. 3 red lights and they had the cheek to say send it back and pay 40 pounds for something that wasn't my doing.
