it has humbled many more people than you. At least it sounds like your's got the red rings if you're calling customer support, so you lucked out there. My first one locked up all the time and never gave me red lights. MS would have told me tough shit and made me pay to repair it if I didn't have a $59.99 retailer warranty. I had to pay the price of a game just to ensure I could swap out their piece of shit.
Yeah I downloaded Bomberman Live played for a bit then went to download smash TV and Pinball FX I start playing Pinball FX it locked up. I turn it off then back on Red rings........ I just hope when I get it fixed/replaced I won't have to again, if it happens more than 2 or 3 times I'll sell it and GULP get a PS3. actually probably not......360s may be defective but it's a defective system WITH AWESOME GAMES.
Finally you've seen the light :lol: PS3s are built to last unlike the 360s but yeah they do have better games for now at least. Real shame about your 360 man :banghead: Its happened to me a lot before thats why I have very little faith left in them.
I am thinking of my options if it continues to be a problem. I could wait until the new 360s with the modified chip sets come out. I could get an Elite instead. I could get a Japanese ps3 and beable to play Japanese PS2 games but doing that I lose my ability to navigate the PS3 network and I hear PS3 load times are brutal not to mention poor online and few exclusives. Hopefully they've permanently fixed the problem with this new repair program new heat syncs or something. My only other option is get a Wii but the Wii is kind a gimmiky and still doesn't really have many appealing games.
That sucks man. I just sent mine to MS today. At least they give you a free month of Xbox Live and a letter of apology with it, lollol. I'm pretty sure the elites have the same problem.
The PS3 will have a lot going for it this year like HOME, Warhawk, Lair, Heavenlysword, HAZE, UT 3 etc and will be getting better next year. I'm sure the elite has the same problem as well since I have seen pictures of people getting red lights out the box. Not sure about the new chip ones yet. Also to point out the PS3 loads times are fine so nothing to worry about there. Hope you get things sorted :thumbsup:
yeah the main Selling point for PS3 for me anyway will be the first party games but everything else the price is a bit steep for an experence I can get on the 360. I'll have to look into the defect rates of the elite. On the bright side I got Trauma center for my DS today......only to have my shitty day enhanced by the fact the game is harder than me when I see my friend's mom.
Yeah but PS3 gets it first for this year and 360 gets it next year so basically its a timed exclusive same for UT 3
yes, I know that. What's funny is hearing it called a timed exclusive, when it seems more like they are just holding off on the 360 until after the big boys drop. This fall/winter is crowded for the 360, so it would be stupid for a less hyped game to release at the same time. While this game may easily be skipped over on the 360 store shelf, it will be a big release for the ps3.
