PSN is not region locked. You can make a USA/JPN/UK/HK/ETC account on your system. I alone have a USA/Can/UK/HK/JPN account setup (why can & usa? well due to credit card lock and my credit card is a visa check card from my usa bank account, canadian is my general account). HK store gets most of the same stuff japan gets but you get to navigate in english (makes fetching stuff easier sometimes).
Any 360 at any time..... I should have seen this coming after mine red ringed the day I got it but I managed to fix it I just hope this is the ONLY time I ever send this or any other 360 back to Texas. Calling all cars looks pretty sweet. dunno about the rest. How does BC look on PS3? getting a Japanese PS3 would solve my PS2 import issues.
don't mock the gaming gods. Every 360 could break at any moment. My 1st one was fine until I played forza 2 for a bit. I swapped it out at a retailer, then my 2nd one actually cracked the same disk. These pieces of shit are pissing me off. Now, not only do I have a 360 that cracked a disk and may do it to another one, but I have to send the game off to MS to replace, for only the gracious price of $20.
at least Microsoft is sort of addressing the problem did sony address the problem when PS2s were dropping like Flies?
When they were in warranty they got replaced. The PS2 issues are not on the scale of the XB360 though
haha! i know! I better be careful. I actually had a dream that it red-ringed while I was playing Oblivion (which I don't even have...) One quick observation about my Elite. It is noticeably quieter than our other 360. It also looks a lot sexier.
Internally the Elite's only difference is a HDMI port... (which is substandard too, i think it's v1.1 or 1.2 whereas PS3's would be 1.2 or 1.3 respectively) also, the problem with 360 thermal dynamics has not been addressed as it's exactly the same chipset. They have however put some lovely hot glue around the GPU in an attempt to lower the failure rate. Not addressing actual issue... Elite will have 3 red lights of death too... MS have god a new 360 (codename Falcon) in the mix, using new 65nm chipset, my guess is if you want a 360 that is going to work, best wait for this bad boy to emerge.
My PS2 is the best console made console I've had never had any problems (touch wood) even when I went to use the swap magic cards It still works and if the PS3 is anything like the PS2 it will be really well built (again touch wood)
My adopted brother's PS2 is a model 1 USED and it works fine for them. But I still hear that some break down after 2-4 years. still that's YEARS not months.
Best I know, the scaling chip has been changed because of the HDMI output, the framebuffer methinks, the actual guts are all the same. but with glue.
I know I have my US PS2 for US games If I get a Japanese PS3 I'd only use it for JP PS2 games. saves me the trouble of modding or using a Boot disc for my PS2.
