Well for anyone who wants to trouble shoot the install process if there are issues here are the pinout of the connectors.

The + simply means it's connected (Grounds usually are)

    Helder,

Do you install these for $ besides the cost of the unit or no? If not, do you know anyone who does? My hands are just too shaky to solder to save my darn life.

    Cheers & Thanks,

    npt

I can install everything I sell since I need to test them before I put them up for sale. $25 for my labor but you pay shipping both ways and also for the SD Adapter. Send me a PM if interested and we can set something up.

Can anyone say how they would recommend doing the case mod for this and share some pictures?

Helder, you ever consider doing a vga board the same way youve done the addon board?

Indeed I have and actually have a bunch of proto boards of various methods but my monitors don't seem to take 480x640 so I can't get a picture to show even though all points are connected like all the DIY mods. I kind of gave up on it since I can't properly test it which is a shame but oh well, oh and it was with the ribbon connector too so no wires and mess.

I'd love to test out those boards for you. I have a monitor that supports the resolution that I use for my DC test. I've gotten tired of the mess, least favorite mod to do.

Okay. Let me know when you do. I want to buy a few snes cable ends. And the add-on board for the SD card mod if you have a spare.

There's a pic in the very first post that's shows a good placement for the board. I can't get a pic right now as I'm not at home but I placed the top onto it and marked with pencil the width necessary to cut the top case. I started cutting away with a Drexel about 1/8" at a Time and retesting placing the tap case back on and attempting to use the card.

Sorry it took so long, i honestly forgot about it until I starting messing with the new dreamshell.

Where to mount internally is already included in the first post here so I wont double up, but here is the outside shot.
Attached is a pic of the first rough cut in the top lid, still needs to be buffed/smoothed out with the dremel, but this is working great for the sd card. The switch on the side is my multi bios.

I've been checking the addon boards lately for problems but the problem is from my inspections seems to be that solder can easily bridge the tiny solder pads. Best to always use flux before hand and looks like a new revision might be in order to help remedy the problem.

In case it helps during any of the revision or troubleshooting process, here's my experience. I verified that no pins were bridged upon install with a meter testing strictly for continuity. What I think may have occurred was the pads broke free of the traces somewhere around where they connect to the pins. Perhaps the irons are simply too hot and melting it away or bridging it somewhere along the board. If it had bridged anywhere adjacent to the pads I would have picked up continuity while testing adjacent pins. I am by no means a professional, just passing info. I'm happy with the install :)

I might just beef up the traces in the next revision and include larger pads if possible, any other ideas or theories is useful to help me revise the board.
