Yeah, but there was an issue with NPCs, as well as Bethesda getting all hissy over it. It was a pain to install, too.
I'll get this with the awesomely nice hardcover guide. I got lost in Morrowind and Oblivion intimidates me but I WANT THIS GAME.
I thought that Bethesda made them stop development on that mod... I'm getting fallout 3 soon, I'm really excited!
I think they're still working on it. Not sure, really. All I know is that its in French or Spanish or something. I was never interested in it. I was at one point, but installing it required you to have Morrowind on your PC already. Too much work for me.
well, i just got to the GNR station and talked to Three Dog and I've got 20 hours in the game. how long were you expecting it to be? i'm not even close to being done. finding all the bobble heads and nuka cola quantum bottles are going to keep me busy for quite some time...
Fall Out 3 is cool, but after playing Gears 2 and Dead Space I have to say those 2 will be fighting it out for Game of the Year.
Gracianno did you ever play Fallout 1 and 2? I'd like to because I always hear people jacking off to it but I never had a computer back when it was new and nobody had it.
I rented Fall Out 3. It's pretty neat and been fun so far. I have no idea what the length of the game is but it seems to have alot to explore and your character has some room for growing them differently. I'm enjoying it. I never played Oblivion though. Also, I'm mainly playing this right now until Gears 2 comes out.
unless it was a Blizzard game, Warlords, or Descent, i didn't play many computer games. i've had Macs in my home since the dawn of time.
I think i'm gonna pass on this game this year. I already have enough on my plate this year and personaly I hated oblivion (i tried twice to get into the game but I couldn't and even further it's over use of normal maps/(posibly paralax maps) gave me serious headakes (like hamer hitting my temples really hard). Atm, I think GOTY will be between LBP & Gears 2.
I played it a little last night. The intro part is better done than Oblivions, thats for SURE. If you haven't played Oblivion, here is the intro: You are a random prisoner. The Emperor comes in and starts hitting on you, saying crap like "YOU ARE THE ONE FROM MY DREAMS", then you go into a dungeon to deliver a necklace of demon banishing to some monk. Anyways, Fallout 3 is pretty immsersive. My PC started stuttering on the FPS rate as soon as I got outside, not sure if its my hard drive or my video card. It was playable, but the FPS rate was like 20 or so. I made it to Megaton, which is a really cool looking village, BTW, and traded in lots of crap from the vault for caps, and then got some raider gear to start killing shit. I might play it more when my PC's back to normal. Or if I get a new Video card. P.S. - It really, really is Oblivion with guns
I've been hearing the PS3 is more buggy then the 360. Also I heard more updates will be available for the 360 vs. the PS3. Anyone have an idea whether or not these are true?
I've also heard that the PS3 version is buggier. I think I read it on IGN or Kotaku. I'm having a ton of fun with the game though. There's seriously a million ways to play the game. I just wish I could get more money. I'm always starving for cash in that game.
PC version crashes a lot. Anyways, I found a decent res in a window to play it for a bit. Pretty tough game! I'm glad level scaling isn't in though. I'm not too fond of the repair system, though, and I don't like how stuff breaks and leaves your inventory if its broken... I think its kind of dumb how real world drugs were renamed thanks to Australia. Oh you can knock a guys head off with a lead pipe, but you can't take steroids. Thats almost as silly as America's stance on sex. Speaking of the violence, I think its one of the most violent games I've ever played...its like Soldier of Fortune level of violence. As far as RPGs go, I think the combat is pretty well balanced. Melee weapons are like guaranteed hits, but they'll break if you use them often. Guns, on the other hand, will still miss the target even if you are aiming directly at that spot at low levels. Kinda like Morrowinds system, but not nearly as bad, then again, Arrows I bet were harder to aim than guns with sights. Thats realistic, too, for me anyway. I've never been a really good shot with a rifle, and even with the sights on something, I'll still miss a lot. I can tell it was made with the Oblivion engine, Gamebyro or whatever, but it plays very differently. It may be Oblivion with guns, but adding guns almost completely revamped how the game works. They are actually realistically powered, too. I had to shoot a giant Scorpion with like 20 bullets before it died, but a human raider / NPC can die in only a few shots of even the pistol. Shotgun shells, can like kill guys in 1-2 shots. I'm also finding loot harder to come by, and healing items are really really weak, even if you do find them. The game also has a realistic economy, but its stuff like that that pissed me off in Morrowind. Every seller has a certain amount of money that replinishes itself based on if you buy stuff or not. Or time, I guess. I just hope a bigger town has a rich merchant with tons of caps. I'd suggest you at least try this game, even if you didn't like Oblivion. Who knows, you might like it.
I know loot respawns, but does anyone know if areas get any more raiders and so on in them? I cleared out Super Duper mart and every single time I come back there are dead bodies everywhere and the Protectobot or whatever its called walking around. BTW, the Rock-it launcher is....AWESOME! In more ways than one. I like how its got basically infinite ammo, and its pretty strong and lethal to boot. Killing Super mutants with toilet plungers launched through a super powered air cannon has never been so satisfying.
About the shooting, I've leveled up my small guns pretty high now, and the accuracy is improved dramatically from when I first started. Also with scoped weapons, sniper/magnum, the free-aim is really accurate. I can blow heads of with ease. So far my favorite weapons are the Shishkebob, Bottlecap Mine (used these to take down the first bohemoth), scoped magnum, and the combat shotgun. They're all really fun to use. So far the best perk I've chosen, imo, is the scavenger one, where you find more ammo laying around. You really do find A LOT more ammo. And it's really helpful. I wish there was a perk so your weapons to get beat up so fast...
According to a review I read somewhere (and according to my own experience), enemies don't respawn in Fallout 3.
