Mine was made in July 2010. When I eventually get a new TV, I'll keep an eye out for one with regional backlight. Why not use something like Xpadder? Map the buttons on the keyboard, then assign those keys to the buttons on the controller. That way you can use L2 and R2, and map the directional buttons to the d-pad instead of the analog stick.
from all that ive seen of this release, there's just nothing there that hasn't existed for years via playstation emulation, and the extra depth involved in graphics plugin configuration provided by shaders and filters (even without those 'artificial' boosts, just upping the core resolution and altering the other hardware related options produces amazing results, and im not talking ps3 upscaling here) Not that the playstation could've ever out-performed its pc doppleganger, assuming it is developed well and with full advantage of the x86 architecture, but there are a lot of those that fell short of being impressive. FF7 on PC was sadly a prime example, whether you suffer through the original pressing's random crashes, shit music and graphic glitches, or some dick at Square-Enix decides to slap an unremovable and pretty second-rate filter over everything. And the fact that the bgm is all shuffled around between pc and console versionsis just sad and pathetic. What was the point in touching the fucking music in the first place if it isnt being replaced with something of higher quality or even being re-recorded? Stupidity....
rediopate The PSN store emulation version is just a port. In the PC version every single character and enemy model has been redone, the filter can be disabled and the sound can be copied and pasted over But yeah it could and should have been better, like even include crysis core or something and/or better background textures. Last night the game refused to sync save files to the cloud, but when I tested the sync in network settings all was well. I checked my profile and it was a couple of hours behind. This morning I checked my online profile but my game saves and achievements have been completely erased... great. Anyone else have this problem? I have half a mind to tell square where to stick it, file for my refund (which they do within 14 days) and just play the game on PSP which works as intended. At least then I can back up my save with media go etc. This I why I don't like buying from small stores and prefer to use Steam...
Better idea. Don't bother with the refund, download ISOs of the original PC release (you technically own it, after all), and install that instead (along with the patches that allow it to run on modern computers). You can even install all kinds of mods to suit your tastes. No cloud saves, no achievements, no bullshit. You can still tell Squeenix where to stick it. They deserve it anyway.
Yeah I got this problem yesterday when poking around my online profile. Made me panic I thought I'd lost my save.
I went to DL Xpadder and it popped up with a request to PayPal them £5.99 -_- I did it anyway (even though I'm flat broke!) At first I remapped everything on the controller to keyboard controls but then there was a conflict with the default settings as the gamepad cannot be disabled in FF7. In the end the way it seems to work best is if you remap the controls PSX style in game as I did in my remap image and then use Xpadder to map the arrow keys to the Dpad and Target / Camera to the triggers. All works fine and dandy now... ... that is except for the cloud save feature which has been busted since Saturday evening -_- It is supposed to be fixed now, and yeah my profile does update to show my old saves, but it wont bring them back down or take my new saves up so meh... very frustrating indeed.
