So.. opinions? Would you consider this a game, or a story, or a series of linear events with cgi scenes?
I hear its very similar to Final Fantasy X, in the sense that there is not too many towns and its fairly linear the whole way through. Im picking up my copy thursday, so until then, i can only speculate.
I have a few gripes but so far I'm enjoying it, it is pretty linear though. I'm having a problem really "getting into it" as much as I have other FF games. Its a great game, and done really well, but I'm still getting use to it. I'm also about 10 hours in. One big gripe I can think of is that you can't talk to towns people, all you do is stand near them and they mention a little something. Its weird not talking to towns people and really engaging in things and helping them with little side quests etc. Overall though, I like the game so far. I'm more excited about FF14 though... I was a big FFXI player.
It's boring as hell but the most pretty game we will probably see this generation. If the graphics weren't as good, nobody would be talking about it.
Yeah but that is just rediculous, you shouldn't have to take almost as long as other games last for it to get "good"
Yeah, i'm not saying it's right but just what i heard. again, i'll say it, if i ever want to play a Final Fantasy game, i'll just play Lost Odyssey instead.
Problem is I have limited time, and with this generation of consoles I can't even gameshark it to enjoy the story.
i'll admit i haven't played it, but isn't fairly similar to the other ones? all the one's i've played haven't deviated that much from the save the world and do random sidequests thing.
Loved looking at FF XIII running but actually playing it.. bleh I just want to kick this mosters ass, why the hell do I have to go into some attack menu for a single move.. pfff
Welcome to RPGs I bought this game last week, I've only played like 4-5 hours but so far I've loved it. I'm not a big fan of RPGs but this is a fine game. Assembler, if you don't have much time then why are you even wondering buying a game that is like 50-60 hours long. Just get GoW 3
This. One million times this. Unfortunate that ole' Sakaguchi jumped ship to the Wii. But at least Feelplus (the company that developed Lost Odyssey) is working on a new large scale JRPG for Microsoft.
This is why so many people are having issues with it, it's so simplified to make it accessible, those of us that do enjoy the old style stat heavy RPG grind-fest are finding it a one button, boring slog.
I have mixed feeling on this game.. at first i could not stand the battle system, or how linear it is.... but now 18 hour in (stuck at chapter 9 end boss).. i find my self liking it... but wanting something more... The lack of towns stinks.. but over that does anyone else find there being a severe lack of Gil (money) in the game.... (and i've fought almost ever possible enemie, and found pretty much ever "hidden" item box) I might have to get the players guide this weekend..
Yeah, there is very little Gil in this game, I am currently in chapter 4 and I have like 1300 Gil at most (Phoenix Downs cost 1000 Gil)
