No worries, can you do me a favour and provide the schematic for the mini HDMI connector my boards have been shipped and I want to see if I got the schematic right for the connector. I was going off the wiki hdmi page but as you have got yours working I would like to see the connector schematic of a working project hopefully that will save me some debug time next weekend.

someone knows there stuff :) Yer the board basically outputs what the gc produces 240p / 480i / 480p / 576i / 576p and lets the TV decide if it can display it.

    FZero in 480p

Got the HDMI connector mounted, with another full test. The FFC cable is being bent in multiple ways to wrap up to the top of the console.

When you have some free time, could you post a picture on how to mount the pcb in the case, with the screws? Thanks for your hard work. :)

I actually didn't build a schematic with this project  I routed everything by hand. Here's an image of the HDMI connector, it should be easy to trace. Pin1 on the HDMI connector is far left. R5/R6/R7 match your schematic.

I will try to get some pictures later tonight.

Wanted to give a WASP update. I actually installed a wasp into a gamecube last weekend. I couldn't get it to work, then it dawned upon me that the gamecube I'm using doesn't have the correct IPL..... I have one of the early versions. I picked up another cube (hopefully it has the correct ipl) yesterday which hopefully will let me get the wasp shit wrapped up and move onto something different.

What thickness of board do you think works best for the WKF QSB? 0.8 or 1.6mm?

What's the difference between the two different chips and what features are missing, if any? Also does the controller hot key menu work with your boards?

I've been choosing 1.6mm just for the time factor from osh park. .8 might be easier to solder, but I've never tried to solder one with castellations. You will have to do a little bit of cleanup with the castellations. I use a small file to remove some of the unwanted copper.

The XC3S50A is bare min chip. It doesn't support the OSD, line doubler & scan lines. Now, you could install the XC3S200A into that board and it would work just fine. Line doubler is on by default etc. But there is no convenient spot to solder the controller to so you couldn't pull the OSD up.

The other board I have designed for XC3S200A is pretty much identical to this one. But the FFC cable is 20pins and carries the pad controller connection over it, along with some other minor adjustments. This board also doesn't havn't jtag pinouts. So the only way to flash is with SPI.
I just need to assemble/test this board and I will post that board up. Here is that board & QSB:

How much will you charge for this board pre assembled?

I haven't really decided yet. Sourcing all the parts from digikey comes out to about 40 dollars shipped. That is in low qty, If I buy in bulk yes the price would get cheaper, but I can't see me ever getting to that level.

    $40 for parts
    $5 for pcb

We are already at $45 and I haven't even assembled the thing yet. IDK what people are willing to pay, but $35 is probably the lowest I'd go in terms of assembly and testing. Are people willing to spend 80 dollars for this thing?

I think that depends on what BadAssConsoles mounting kit ends up looking like. If his mounting options ends up looking awesome and fitting easy, I'd expect that to become the defacto standard. If it's at all lack luster, then I see a market for something like this around $80. Availability comes into play as well.

Also, can you check the link to the FFC connector for the WASP adapter board? The Digikey link just takes me to the all products page. I'm going to go ahead and order the host side board now as a .8mm and wait the three weeks.

Yeah I'm not trying to compete with baconsoles, which is why I'm giving osh park links etc. This was a personal project of mind that I didn't have intentions of making money on. His designs look solid though.

Here is the part number for the connector: A120671CT-ND

Just an idea like this, did you think off a version that would remove the digital connector and put the qsb on top and add the hdmi port on the qsb board. I hane this idea but sont know if its possible to do with 2 layer.

no more like a short QSB with hdmi and internal mainbord so it will not stick out of the back so much. I will try to desing it but i have no experiance !

There are too many components on the upper side of the motherboard to have a qsb with everything on board. The FPGA wouldn't be able to sit flush anywhere behind or to the left of the Digital AV pinout.

Where do you propose putting the FPGA on that design? There just isn't enough space for it. You could cut a little bit from the shuriken v3, but it's about as small as is possible.
