I mentioned this elsewhere, but be wary of these until you know what version was loaded to these carts. In the video, it has the Gamecube buttons, so it is either a direct rip (in which case the ending will not work along with a few other things) or it is an older hack. There were a few different older hacks to fix the ending, some caused other problems.

There are a few new hacks out there to restore the buttons along with other things. One even enhances the graphics a little, though it requires the expansion ram.

Yea, I can't believe he didn't even patch the ROM before he flashed it. I've been playing MQ on and off for a few months.

The seller is also offering Conker's Bad Fur Day, which is a 64MB game. Now this begs the question if all carts are equipped with a 64MB flash chip or if it would be wiser to buy Conker since you get more cartridge for the same price.
That is ofc if reflashing is even possible and he didn't use OTPs.

Wonder if they are patched to support PAL video modes?

Asks $175. Didn't even take the time to whip up a box.

The retrostage one looks pretty nice, albeit possibly a bit overengineered with that FPGA if you see what the Chinese make do with (but hey, whatever works, and at least you know you'll get something for your money). I wouldn't pay $200 (auction starting price) for it, but can see why some people might think different.

Depends on if the AliExpress one is done with a cheap glob top or 20 discrete components. That makes for a messy looking board for sure.

You're basically paying for some nice gold lettering, a box that can easily be reproduced and artwork lifted from the originals. Instead buy an old Everdrive 64 v1.0 or some other old flash cart for cheap. Make your own label, etc. if you feel it necessary, and then load MQ on there. That way you can update it if new patches come out. It's not like the resale on those 10 will ever be near what you originally pay for them. Especially if someone finds some game breaking code in whatever is loaded on those carts.

There is an older version of the N64 restoration patches circulating that includes a bug that makes Stalfos unkillable. You have to kill two Stalfos to free Zelda in order to reach Ganon.

<mode="potential repro buyer>Yes I could do that, but thats soooo much work and I'm laaazyyy. And those Everdrives aren't too cheap either. And I don't own a decent printer, and my label sheets have run out. And I'm no good with Photoshop so it'd all end up looking bad anyways.</mode>
I doubt anyone would be naive enough to get one of these because of the resale value (but if you do, boy do I have a deal on collector's edition chestnut animals for you! PM me!)

Here's another thought, if you wanna play MQ just get the Gamecube version instead (that's where the ROM came from in the first place, anyways). Hell, you could grab probably three or four copies off eBay at Buy-It-Now prices and still save money compared to these carts!
If you want something nice-looking but highly unofficial to put on your shelf, go ahead and bid on that $200+ box set if that's worth it to you. The loose carts have no reason whatsoever to exist, though, imho.

Did that make it's way into the NTSC version as well? Looking through your posts at the other forum it looked as though the bug was only in PAL roms.

If that's the case I guess it'll be fun to see the results of these games in a few weeks *grabs popcorn*

They were not in my NTSC-U/J patches at that point, but they might have been in an earlier version of them. If they used Aroenai's patches, it has a better change of being in there. I vaguely remember seeing it in some of his patches, but I can't remember which ones. They were all fixed at about the same time.

I fixed some minor problems in the past month in just about all of my patches. Nothing game breaking - I just had a bad version of the Game Saved fix, and had never confirmed everything up to that point. It's a lot of patches to manage at once with so many Gamecube releases :)

The bug with the stalfos was from an additional expanded ram patch that did more than it was supposed to, that was my bad.

@ozidual Mods are actually looking into the auction now since I complained about the one including your patch.

    Edit: Booya!

    Noice.
He's probably still gonna sell a few copies to those that already put their bids in (three people iirc, so that's $600). Not much the mods can do about that I guess...
