Bayonetta 2 I beat the game last week, after about 15 hours of gameplay. It was a wild ride for sure, and i loved every moment of it. I beat Bayonetta 1 (ps3) this past Friday just to refresh myself again with the game. Bayo 2 is definitely the better of the two games, but there are some things i preferred from the first game. First off is the difficulty. Bayo 1 is the harder game (normal difficulty) but it also has a lot of cheap deaths thrown in there as well. I really hate quick time events that kill you if you miss them. It's one of the lamest and most frustrating ways to lose in a game, and i'm super glad that bayo 2 has zero of them. But i did find bayo 2 to be way to easy at times. at the end of bayo 1 i had about 30 deaths racked up. At the end of bayo 2 i only died 1 time. Another thing that stood out for me between the 2 games were the bonus stages (Alfheim in bayo 1, muspelheim in bayo 2) I recall the bonus stages in bayo 1 being super hard, and i was only able to complete and find a few of them. Meanwhile, the bonus stages in bayo 2 were abundant, and pretty easy. I found all but 2 of them during my first play through, and i completed them all, and only had trouble with a few of them. I recall one of the Alfheim stages where you had to stay in the air for at least 20 seconds. There were Muspelheim stages like this as well, but they started off with you on a platform. needless to say, the Alfheim version is much harder. But at the end of the day, Bayonetta 2 is an amazing game, and it is a great sequel that fixes many issues the first game had, while making it a bit more accessible to gamers. I will end this with stating that i do believe that The Wonderful 101 is a better game than Bayonetta 2. I know many will disagree with this, but hear me out. Yes Bayonetta 2 is better looking game than W101, but i feel that the enviorments, and stages were much more "fun" in W101 than in Bayo 2. They felt more fresh and new to me. Maybe its because I played Bayo 1, then started playing Bayo 2 right after, but i enjoyed the city landscapes, and the many exotic areas in W101 over Bayonetta. I also prefer the combat and comboing system in W101 over the Bayonetta games. W101 unite morph attacks just feel so awesome when you string them together, and i felt that there was a bigger and more free variety of combos to pull of in W101 over Bayonetta. Lastly, i enjoyed the characters and story of W 101 over the Bayo games. I do enjoy the way they tied Bayo 1 & 2 story together. But one thing the W101 had over bayo in story were the bad guys. They actually were interesting and fun, and had back story. Enough of the rant, in the end if you own a Wii U you should def pick up Bayonetta 2. Once your done with Bayonetta, pick up The Wonderful 101 as well
I beat Destiny a couple of weeks ago I guess. No plot to really have a resolution, even for something episodic...
I finally beat/finished Ninja- Shadow of Darkness, having picked it up again after 13 years or so. I liken the experience to a more aggravating Gauntlet Legends/Dark Legacy.
I finished Crash Bandicoot 2 the other day. I've finished it several times before, and played through parts of it even more. It's a great game. It's pretty amazing what Naughty Dog was able to do with the Playstation hardware. It looks better, in some respects, than some N64 games. Of course, it's really fun too. It's very challenging at times, but rarely frustrating. There is one level in particular, the one that takes place in a futuristic factory or something, that's kind of frustrating. But overall it's really fun, has good graphics, and good music. I've actually been meaning to play this game for a while, but was unable to because my disc was badly scratched. I got another copy, which is in pretty good condition, and it loaded without any problems. It only took me about 4 days to finish.
Just finished Oracle of Seasons. Not sure if it was 100% due to the ring thing and being linked to another game... but just started Oracle of Ages so I will see if I get 100% after linking the two and beating that. Though, I dont think I can do 100% on the 3ds due to the GBA store in game...
Recently beat Exile on the turbo grafx. Fun game. a Bit short, and a bit to easy, but overall enjoyed it.
Just finished up Final Fantasy VI. While not my favorite of the ones I've played, IMO its the best FF. Started the JAP SNES retranslation of FFIV. Although I should probably finish X, given that I'm now at Sin.
Right now I'm a bit into some retro PC gaming. Just finished Turok 2 and Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. Working my way through the PC edition of Heart of Darkness.
Journey is such a great game. I need to go back and play THATGAMECOMPANY's games are all amazing, Fl0w and Flower are great relaxing games to play after stressful week.
It is a great game ... a little short, but enjoyable. I ordered this - earlier this year .. or maybe late last year. It's the Journey Collector's Edition; I was unaware that it included FLOW, FLOWER and 3 additional mini games that were never released by THATGAMECOMPANY. I have not played the others... I'll get to it sometime.
I finished Snatcher earlier this week for the first time, and just now completed my first play-through of Suikoden. Both were amazing games! Time to move on to the sequels of each, Policenauts and Suikoden II.
PS3: Earth Defense Force; Insect Armageddon. Normal campaign. Fun run & gun third person shooter, but suffers from slow frame rate when the action gets a little heavy.
I finished Portal in one sitting last night. I might have gone to the bathroom once or twice, but that's it. I think it took me around 2 hours to finish it. It is a pretty short game, but I think that's probably the fastest playthough I've ever done. I still love the game; the humor and the puzzles make it great. I think it's only logical that I should play Portal 2 next. We'll see how long it takes me to complete that (probably not long).
Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed - Still need to unlock 3 characters and some mirror tracks, but already completed the main career mode. Really cool game, but somehow even after it sold millions of copies on the last humble bundle, it's almost impossible to find online races. If you liked Portal, you'll love Portal 2.
