How do Game Boy Color games look on that one?

I like the color scheme. Guess I should hunt me down some white GBC buttons & bezel.

    That's a great looking gameboy!

Best gameboy for playing GB/GBC/GBA games is quite simply the AGS-101 backlit SP. I have an old G6 flash 4G and you can pack a lot of Game Boy games into 512MB. The PSP works well too if you just want to emulate, and has a nicer form factor (IMHO) for people with bigger hands.

The K101 clone has well documented issues including the screen scaling and probably the thing that really killed it - a bad habit of randomly deleting save files.

I disagree personally. Hated that clamshell design. Rather have a Micro for GBA games too. As for GBC games, I've rarely considered any of them to be worth owning a GBC for. Almost all the games I want to play on GB will play on a DMG, Pocket or Light.

The SP is my favorite design personally. It was so easy to just toss into my pocket, and was the only system I carried around with me aside from the 3DS. I suppose I would have done the same had I purchased a Micro, but I never did.

I rather like the picture of my original model Gameboy with a backlight mod.

Is that biverted? Also is the backlight bleeding as apparent in person as it is in all the pictures i've seen of various Backlit DMGs?

Eh, I've biverted a DMG before. The light spread is okay but not as uniform as my Light.

The LCD on this DMG is not Biverted. The bleeding is NOT as apparent as it is in the pictures, but it is lit only the from the bottom, and you can tell.

Here's two more pics of the LCD screen, this time from a Game Boy Camera.

Different contrast in these pics hence the more green look to it.

Maybe he has connections to the seller? I'm pretty sure he's Chinese. I would do an IP CHECK but it's a pain when using the phone to surf the net.

There were [at least] two different GB Boy Colour models out there. The sticker on the back has a model number. Mine is GBC-405. The one with built-in games is GBC-406. Or at least it should be. Also, the GBC-405 model has a slightly different logo on the screen cover. While the newer models have "COLOUR" written in differently colored letters, the "COLOUR" on GBC-405 is white [my screen still has the crappy protective sticker on, by the way]:

The screen aspect ratio is slightly off in both models, which is noticeable during any type of vertical scrolling, but other than that, it's a superb clone. I'm glad I got my hands on one for cheap before they sold out. I got a box and some kind of manual as well. Some people got a free game [pirated, of course] with their orders. The box is the same for both GBC-405 and GBC-406. As far as I can tell, anyway [it even has the multicolored logo]:

Agree on the Ags101. I have an original gba modded with the Ags screen and its amazing what a difference to the old sp screen it is. The only other alternative that has that crisp a screen is a modded psp.

Damn when I found my GB Boy Colour I paid $60 from hong kong for it, but that was nearly a year ago and had to convince a taobao seller to let me buy just one! Now they're everywhere! My only complaint about the GB Boy Colour is the d-pad feeling.... I swapped it out with a real GBC's dpad and it feels perfect now. No compatibility issues or anything like that I've run into at all.

Can you please stop necro'ing your own thread? Yes, we all know you like GB Pocket colors, and want everyone to know about it and buy one. But bumping with a smiley face after 3-4 weeks, and bumping with a review after another 3-4 weeks is kind of annoying. If you have something new to contribute, make a new thread. If what you have to say can't stand on it's own, then don't say it.

As of today, the seller is offering these GB Boy models:

    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/GS-C...w-8-bit-classical-games-Brand/1169589357.html
(GB Boy w/ black & white screen: $14.99)

    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hand...free-shipping-to-play-original/921203614.html
(GBA SP-looking GB Boy w/ color screen: $19.99)

    http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...le-color-same-function/426976_1557455152.html
(the GB Boy Colour you guys were originally talking about: $29.99)

Has anyone had any experience with the other two GB Boys (other than the one this topic is about)?

[Does this count as "necro-ing"? I appologize if it does. I just thought it would be better to keep the discussion within this thread.]
