    Thanks for answering my question.

I guess Mine is just defective. I could probably repair it if I opened it, but it is a minor detail and it would require removing some of the stickers.
At least mine doesn't have a single dead pixel. I heard that most of these things tend to have a few.

Mine cuts off the audio too when headphones are used. I'm lucky like you, no dead pixels on mine either. I really like the unit but some games do have odd audio I found. Double Dragon sounds odd but everything else sounds fine.

DD sounds weird how? Pitch is off? Slower than normal? Noise channel is messed up?

Mind recording it if you can and also record the same part on a real GBC?

Maybe do a review of it on RC

I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks or not but faceball 2000 might have a slightly better framerate on this clone

The pitch sounds off. I don't have a real GB but I do have a Super Gameboy which sounds pretty much the same apart from being a microsecond slower. I'll do a recording tonight and post it here.

OK, I've made a few MP3s for people to compare.

The clone hardware was connected direct to my ASSUS Xonar Essence STX sound card (A very good high quality DAC card) while the Super Gameboy audio came via the SFC through the Famemeister's HDMI and in to my PC.

    Double Dragon - Clone Hardware - www.segagagadomain.com/sound-sample/double-clone.mp3
    Double Dragon - Super GameBoy - www.segagagadomain.com/sound-sample/double-super-gb.mp3
    Castlevania - Clone Hardware - www.segagagadomain.com/sound-sample/castle-clone.mp3
    Castlevania - Super GameBoy - www.segagagadomain.com/sound-sample/castle-super-gb.mp3

The Castlevania tracks sound pretty much the same in quality apart from the clone hardware version being slower and at a lower pitch.
Double Dragon on the other hand has the same issues. The clone hardware sounds slower and at a lower pitch just like Castlevania but some sound channels are messed up giving a really off sound.

I guess it depends upon the game but for sure the sound on the cloned hardware is defiantly slower. On a plus point, it does have very good audio out. No noticeable noise feedback at all. Pure silence when no sound was being played.

Yeah the sound output is pretty nice. Just a shame it's a little slower and has issues with some games.

Think I'll go ahead and get one then. I've been dying for a backlit GBC for years, GBA SP was too awkward/small and the stretching isn't very good and I can't stand frontlit stuff

Wait, about the sound issue: isn't the Super Gameboy known for pitching up the sound a touch? I looked up "Battle of the Holy" from Castlevania Adventure on YouTube, and the one I listened to there is closer to the one Yakumo recorded from the clone hardware than the Super Gameboy recording.

EDIT: Seems like others have found the sound on the SGB to be pitched a bit higher.

I think it is but that wouldn't affect the odd sound from double dragon on the cloned hardware. I don't know if the super GameBoy plays the music faster though. Maybe someone with a real GameBoy could do a test?

The SGB does have a higher pitch, but the GB BOY COLOUR does have a lower pitch. There both off pitch.

I did. Not sure about everyone else.

Sounds like this guy was just getting rid of dead-stock he didn't know what to do with. I would have recommended Tototek or SuperUFO if these were still being produced, but sadly, I don't think these are manufactured anymore. I've only really seen these units in China to be honest.
