I see, never knew they were really region free, i've heard they were before not too long ago but wasn't sure if it was true or not anyways thanks for letting me know btw

 

I wonder if the dpad and buttons can be easily swapped in from an original GBC

As per my review I did way back when, before my web-server crapped out on me.

Edit: FYI - Gangfeng color units are the easiest to find. Non color units are more rare. Subor clones are pretty rare to find.

 

Nice collection! Would love to see your review on the different GB clones. How does the GB boy color stack up against the rest?

 

Ah, the color units are pretty good. The picture quality is nice considering the original GB color was hard to see on. However, the non-color units all have a slightly faster clock, so the music plays just a little out of tune (a bit faster). Most average gamers won't notice the difference, but experts will feel it is slightly off.

I really don't mind finding a loving home for these. I just don't think I'd get good offers. (^_^);

I believe mine arrived today but I'm away a from home for three days posting this from my phone here in the hotel.

 

mine arrived yesterday into New Zealand so i should get mine today i live close to post office so i always get my items the day after they arrive in the country

 

Are these hardware clones or is it performing emulation ie. incompatibilities may abound?

They are hardware clones, and probably not 100% perfect. So think of it like the existing line of NES, SNES, and Genesis clones. They aren't perfect. But they do a decent job, for the most part.

 

They're hardware clones which is why they are interesting.

I finally got home today after a 3 day trip away for work and what was waiting for me packed very well.....



The box is actually a lot smaller than I thought it would be. The unit is also pretty small. Smaller than a normal GameBoy, that's for sure.



Here's World Heroes Jet running on it. As you can see, the screen is pretty good. The viewing angle is also nice and there's no blur issues.



The audio is a bit crap though. The music on Double dragon sounds a bit "wobbly"



For the price of a used game in Japan I'm very happy though. No complaints at all.

 

To those who have received the GB Boys, let is know how long the battery's last. That's one of my concerns as AA batteries are expensive in my area.

Really? We must have misunderstood each other. Maybe he thought I meant a different Item he sells or he just stopped including the box later on.
