I just said what will happen Unless a new reliable and method is available, you will not be able to get past activation
It means something big, like for example if someone figured out how the keys work and can generate them for people or a patch to the system that would ignore the activation status, that would be groundbreaking.
I've gotten word everything is okay now. Now the question is - will he share the method to his success
OK, Here are some real progress. I successfuly bypass the activation by some tricks(without any software). My dev kit is now can run both retail game and backup games (includingall 3rd party software), I think that's it.
before you do this, remember to disconnect from the Internet, and also remeber to set the computer time to 2009. 1,disconnect all the cable 2,tear the Dev kit apart 3, remove the CP board 4, remove the battery 5, connect CP board to the mother board and leave the battery away 6, connect the cable(CP first, then power), and power it on 7,set time to 2009.1.1 00:00 you will get backup battery error message open neighbourhood and connect the dev kit, then refresh the status,at last reboot through neighborhood, after reboot, you will see the clock(not date) was change. 8,disconnect the usb cable and keep the power cable connect 9, put the battery back into the dev kit. 10,connect the usb cable and power it on, the battery error message should gone. If not, disconnect all the cable and plug it again. 11, once you discover the battery error message was gone, open neighborhood and connect to the dev kit and then refresh, wait serval minutes then reboot 12, after reboot, you will get an activated dev kit
I think the whole things is about time, after mess up with the RTC, it will re calculate the expire date, and the whole process can be done offline And also, don't try to set the time to the correct time, it will make taihenkaku fail, and don't forget to turn off the automatic time calibration on the setting app. you can change the computer date to the correct date after, the dev kit is,activated.
When you put the battery back to the dev kit, you should power it on with the usb cable connect, and then reboot the dev kit through the neighborhood software
Glad it works on Devkits, but Testkits are still left with nothing due to it being impossible to connect them to neighborhood. Thank you for sharing regardless
I think the TEST kit will work, as I mentioned before, the key is the time, If I reset the time through let have no power and assign a new time, I think it will work. Glad to hear it works. BTW you can't run both henkaku and catarage game at the same time If you run henkaku already and you want to play catarage game, you have to reboot the dev kit
If i still had my kit I would try. The issue is Neighborhood. If you are required to use Neighborhood then you can't do anything with a Testkit as there is no way to have that software communicate with the Testkit. Ethernet, Wifi, USB, none of these will connect it to Neighborhood. Even the Sony documents say Testkits cant connect due to lack of CP board. If you have some other way of making it work then I'm open to hearing it.
