NES - good point, I forgot that Nintendo had regional differences at the time.

However it's a logistic hell to bundle European power supplies from the US. In the end the bundle will get even more expensive due to European PSU shipping back and forth. However I'll look into universal 110/220 PSU's, maybe we'll find some.

It's already expensive as you made it from thick perspex! ;) hehe.

Look at a middle man courier option - possibly ipsparcel, but I think they're expensive now. I shipped parcels to the US for $50 at Christmas... and they could have been a bit cheaper.

You don't buy from Europe, you buy from a decent electronics supplier - with your components, perhaps. Better still, get universal PSUs with detachable pins. this one is a bit expensive, but you get the idea... you must have those in the US. Or build the PSU in and use an IEC socket.

    [EDIT]

YOU DO have those in the US. 12V 420mA for $8? Perfect!

There's also that guy who does the Commodore PSUs if you want a nice, clean PSU.

    Well that's my preorder placed.

A little bit more expensive than I would have hoped, but it's all good.

I'm looking forward to receiving it in due course. :)

I think it said "no PSU" when I put in my order (within the US), so I figured they weren't feasible to include in general. I'd be glad to be wrong though. :)

What are you trying to tell me? I made it from whatever was feasible.

As I've said, I haven't looked into it - this is distributors business, distributor bundles stuff and I set the requirements. And the requirements are 7-12V center negative - it's written in the 1st post. What you posted here is center positive.
And inb4 I won't discuss the polarity decision here, not anymore.

Woohoo! Thanks so much superg. Beyond excited!
After reading the OP and recent replies, I have a few quick questions.
    1) I'm in the US. When I go to the link (https://squareup.com/market/retrorgb/gscartsw-v-pre-order) it gives a price of $215 and says no power supply. Is there a version with power supply for $225?
    2) I will buy 2. Will there be combined shipping?
Thank you again and sorry if those are dumb questions. So excited!

Perspex is heavy. It's actually a good thing in that pissy little plastic SCART blocks were forever falling over... the downside is that International shipping is crazy expensive nowadays! Well, shipping in general... right?

As for polarity, if you speak to XP Power (or any PSU manufacturer... definitely the Commodore guy), they'll most likely wire it for you the other way round as you'd be buying in bulk. I've even looked and found him for you.

What we agreed with RetroRGB is that we bundle PSU for the US for $225 and Europe gets only the switch for $215. As far as I know his store is not set up for the European distribution that's why all these complications. Initially I wanted to do European distribution through VideoGamePerfection, and this is still planned. Major roadblock is VAT and it's 20%. So I decided to distribute the first big batch entirely from the US while trying to set things up for Europe, which is to manufacture the switch there. I'll ask retrorgb to reply to your questions here.

I definitely appreciate what this guy is doing for the Commodore community. However I don't know if we should go that custom. 200mA for switch humble needs is enough and it's just a question of convenience which is universal 100-240V input and negative polarity. As long as it's possible to get a universal switched PSU with mentioned requirements for <=$10 - I'm all in!
Providing two different PSU versions for different markets it's a pain as nobody knows how many switches will ever be sold and in this case RetroRGB risks having the stock of useless European PSU's here.

Now enclosure: RetroRGB made an industrial metallic case prototype, I don't think I've ever mentioned it anywhere. I currently have it here and I think I can post a photo later. The thing is that it's a few times more expensive than current design and we just can't inflate the price even more so we scrapped that idea.

Thanks for your hard work superg! I just put my order in. I'm also curious if this comes with a psu or not. Not a big deal, just want to be prepared when it arrives in March :).

None of the pre-orders come with a PSU, even US sales. The one I was going to include cost $10, so I lowered the price from $225 to $215 to compensate. I'm trying my best to make this work for everyone, but please understand I'm not a "company", I'm one guy and I'm trying to make sure I don't get overwhelmed with this distribution.

I'm still not sure what to do about combined shipping. I ordered packing materials for single shipments, but now will have to order more for the doubles. Once I figure out the exact cost of shipping multiple units, I'll try to refund the difference to each person who ordered more then one. Please keep in mind I'm trying my best to charge the exact shipping I pay and I'm definitely NOT trying to make any extra money from shipping.

Guys, I apologize for the confusion, there is probably a miscommunication from my side. What RetroRGB said is right.

So I just put in an order for 2 switches, I understand I might get a partial refund on the shipping later so that's alright, I understand it's a small operation and all that. Anyways, I figured since I have the switches on order I should ask here. What exactly will I need to make this work? I have 2 Genesis 1 power adapters already strung and ready so that should work, however, if i'm daisy chaining the 2 switches to each other, and also needing one cable to go to the framemeister, what cables will I need and where is the best place to buy them from?

I appreciate any help, i'd like to have the cables in advance so I'll be ready to go when these arrive, I just get the impression these don't come with any cables at all?

Just ask her to put a male scart plug on the xrgb adapater and also you may want to ask her to make it a little longer.

I put in an order for another switch even though I have 2 of the older models already. Was wanting another one for my BVM as the other 2 are hooked up to my xrgb mini

This got expensive quick. Nonetheless, I happily ordered one.

My question is...what do you see availability like in the future? I may want a second switch in the future, but would really rather not put out ~$450 at the moment for both.

Pre-ordered. Since I'm outside the US, I paid $215 directly via PayPal instead of going through the shopping basket on the retroRGB site. I hope that was correct?
