It says the one cable is out of stock, I already have a cable to plug into the framemeister for Euroscart, so if that's the case 2 male to male scart cables would be sufficient or am I missing something?

That should work fine. I didn't look to see if it was in stock as it was listed in the store. any good quality male to male cables will work.

She builds great cables and the more popular offerings tend to eventually be "restocked". And since you've got a couple months to wait, it may be worth keeping an eye open for their return.

If we are pre-ordering outside of the US, do we send the $215 through paypal as goods and services, or does it have to be sent a gift? Thanks!

    Yes

Edit: A few people mis-read my post, so I wanted to clarify:
    - US shipping is the same for everyone; Priority flat-rate will full insurance.

    - International shipping is EXPENSIVE and I'll be using any method I can to get the cheapest price (including full insurance). Some orders might ship USPS flat-rate international, others just normal priority international. I'll also be using PayPal to create the international shipping labels, since if you print it through them, they give you a tiny discount. Also, PayPal automatically fills out the addresses and prints the proper international shipping forms.

You can still use PayPal to ship anything with a discount. Here is the link in case you didn't know about it:

I would also like to know if these are planned to be available in the future. If my retro gaming setup gets larger than 8 consoles down the line, I would definitely want a second.

We'll work on it to make it freely available. The thing is that I don't have enough funds to invest in bigger batch. And if order less units it can get even more expensive. Current priority is this SCART batch. After this I'll make some JP21 units. And then I hope we will come up with something.

I guess I did have a hypothetical concern. Obviously with all things, they can break eventually and no one will have had these for so many years to tell how likely that is. In the event they break and no option exist to replace them, would there be a means to service broken units in the future for those of us who aren't as mechanically inclined? I tend to keep a couple redundant units of things but with the price on these, can barely afford to grab what I need right now.

It's finally out! Thanks for your great job.
Given the shipping cost and the price, i'll probably wait for an european supplier for this switch. I hope that you will find a solution for european distribution. By the way, swiss VAT is 8%.

    March.

They will most likely be sold out by the end of the week.

    Payment sent via paypal.
RetroRGB, I sent $232.00 USD with my US address, I hope this amount is correct. I forgot to mention what the payment was for, but I guess this is self explanatory.

First of all I don't plan to do any kind of such refurbish services. So far only one switch had an issue (few months of usage), it was shipped here, I fixed it and shipped back. All previous units used manual SMD placement and it affected soldering quality. This batch is going with full automatic assembly so such problems would be excluded. Other than that I don't see any reasons for the failure. It's a low power device and if it won't be affected by any physical forces it would work for decades.
And of course any damage caused by wrong input (wrong PSU, higher voltage on signal pins such as JP21 to SCART and vice versa, any DIY etc.) won't be fixed by me.
However I do my best to help any user if I feel that the problem could be on my side.
