gscartsw: automatic 8:1 SCART-RGB switch

Back then I've calculated that I'll need 3 switches to support the consoles I'm interested in.

 

I've had to limit myself to certain console makers, otherwise I won't have enough left over to buy games for all those systems!

 

Just finished making my male to male jp21 cable today. I plugged in everything, fired up each console one at a time and I'm happy to report that the switch is working beautifully. This switch really is fantastic. Good work Superg.

 

Hi - can't believe I missed the EuroSCART switch, but I wondered...if I could run the Jp21 easily? I run a Framemeister - wouldn't I just need a cable that is wired for JP21 instead of SCART for the RGB in?

Or, is it more difficult requiring that all input SCART ports are wired differently? (thus I'd need to change all of my cables out, etc)

you'll need all new cables because the inputs are all JP21 on the JP21 version of the gscartsw.

 

celeritas is right, you'll need a whole new set of cables. And wouldn't really recommend to go with JP21. As I've said - I'll open the pre-orders once paypal will allow me and I'll be done with this batch.

 

Been following this for a while and finally managed to snag a switch and a JP21 at that so I don't have to re-wire everything I got.

 

I managed to snag a preorder on a SCART unit this time. I live in the UK, so im looking forward to getting hit with a £40 - £50 customs fee.

 

is our best approach to daily monitor this thread between the "4 to 6 week" mark as mentioned by super?
I was honesty already checking this thread every 2 / 3 days, and I literally missed out this time by ambiguous randomness. Hoping to reduce that factor if at all possible

 

I was checking a few times a day every day for the last 6 months and I still missed the first two batches. Your best bet is to follow this thread and follow RetroRGB on Facebook and Twitter and set up notification alerts. That's how I managed to finally get a preorder.

Also, I don't know this for certain, but it seems like with each production run, Superg has been able to produce more units but don't quote me on that, it just seems that way from following the thread. I don't actually know his numbers. He will likely chime in though, he's good about following this thread and answering questions.

 

Don't know why you guys are having trouble subscribing to the thread and setting instant email notification. As simple as that and you get your updates in no time, of course if you check your email .

Yeah, I'm trying to gain a momentum and every next switch order is bigger. It's just seems I always underestimate the demand because I've expected this SCART batch to last at least for a week and it was actually much quicker than previous one.

 

How large was this most recent batch of SCART switches, Superg?

Anyone have a suggestion as to where i can get the parts needed to wire my own jp21 male to male? I have all jp21 rgb cables and just ordered the jp21 switch. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Just buy a male to male scart lead and then rewire it.

I managed to preorder one of the switch, but I have one question. Will the RGsB signal from my PS2 work fine for 480p games if I do this: PS2 RGB output > gscartw > XRGB-mini > TV ? Or is there something else I have to use ?

I personally haven't look into PS2 480p using gscartsw but I'm pretty sure RetroRGB information is up to date: http://www.retrorgb.com/playstation.html#ps2
