gscartsw: automatic 8:1 SCART-RGB switch

Did I miss it? The Buy Now button is taking me to an order confirmation page and then tells me it's sold out, rather than just immediately saying it's sold out. Missed my chance on the first wave, hoping to get in on this one!

 

It's not active yet. Once I'll open the pre-orders it'll probably last for a few weeks.

Im new here and are really interested in this Gscart! Im planning to use my rgb consoles with a gscart, SCART out to TV and the VGA out simultaneously to a PEXHDCAP capture card as I plan to record/stream at the same time while playing, all in rgb. Would this work? I assume that I don't need anything else, like a Sync Strike, the gscart already has sync stripper built in?

Also, does the gscart support S-video if I use a S-video to scart plug in between? This is not super important though, I run a PAL n64 thats uncapable of rgb modding.

Simultaneous output works just fine so your idea will work.
S-Video won't magically convert to RGB, switch is meant to passthrough signal, not convert.

Somebody has managed to buy the switch, I don't know how it actually happened because internally the quantity is 0 and I don't have any unit available for the purchase .

I was just trying to buy one, and then PayPal proceeded normally, as if it were in stock. I guess, I assumed you activated the pre-orders PayPal-wise and were in the middle of announcing it here... so I just ordered one. Weird. Anyway, sorry for any inconvenience!

Well, hopefully I will manage to buy it "again", when it actually will be in stock , can't wait!

No I mean if i send S-video into the gscart from my n64 via a Svideo to scart adapter it would still pass through the s-video signal? I have both S-video and RGB compatibility on my tv via scart input. Pros of living in PAL-land lol.

 

Actually I'd like to know this as well. Only because I'd like to retire my S-Video switch. At the moment I have 5 SCART consoles and 3 S-Video consoles so if I could use S-Video > SCART adapters to just get everything on one switch then that would be great.

 

Well, you can use it as S-Video switch with adapters if you want but simultaneous RGB/S-Video output will be problematic because you'll have to come up with 2-in-1 output splitters which will share SCART/S-Video connections simultaneously. Shouldn't be a problem for a TV but you'll still have to use remote to switch SCART/S-Video input. IMO doesn't worth the trouble.

 

Surprised this isn't a stickied thread with over 1500 replies this one thread is always getting bumped to the top of the board just a thought with so many people interested and buying this guys product he would have his own thread separate from the others
