Well i have seen it in action and it looks and feels great :/ I can't argue the specs or technology behind it but there is zero input lag that i can notice and the image quality is amazing. That is really all that matters to me and the fact it is only $100 to have someone mod your GC for it is another selling point over the $200+ component cable.

Between this and the packapunch cables on Retro Gaming Cables, I am in heaven <3 Thanks for doing another batch!

Well my Gscart arrived. I have 4 consoles plugged into it right now. My Super Famicom, Genesis, and Dreamcast all work fine. The only issues I've seen are screen alignment being slightly different; toggling the CS switch remedies this depending on console/game and the minor squeal when turning it off. My Super Famicom has the same amount of audio buzzing as before so I think that must be an issue with cable versus the gscartsw.

My Sega Saturn however has a noticeably different look. The colours are much more muted as well as lines/shadows going on in the image when movement occurs (it looks normal when plugged in directly to my PVM or my older, cheap scart switch box). The Saturn is using scart cables (csync) from retro gaming cables uk. Anyone have any idea about this? I can try taking some photos later.

Tried using different inputs as well as only having the Saturn plugged into Input 1. Both resulted in the same issue. Reconfirmed plugging directly in works without issue.

Update: So I removed my "nicer" retro gaming uk cable and plugged in my cheap one and that seems to have completely remedied the issue. I assume this has something to do with how the cable was dealing with sync? No idea what was issue there but glad it seems to have been dealt with. Going to try hooking up my PS2 with recently acquired scart cable (confirmed it works directly in as well). Still waiting on the PC Engine cable from Sweden but fingers crossed the rest of these work without trouble.

Edit (multiple times now :p): Yep, confirmed the PS2 works great meaning 5 for 5 now. Would like to figure out what was going on with the Saturn and the retro gaming cables uk cable though.

Another update: I didn't buy Saturn cables from retro_console_accessories but their description of their scart cable seems completely relevant to my issue:

"Uses composite sync not composite video to sync the image. Works perfectly on model 1 Saturns. Please do not purchase this for a Model 2 Saturn (round buttons) unless you are sure you need csync. Some Model 2s have a compromised picture with csync, it isn't all of them or even most of them (per my testing) but it's enough that we have to include this warning. White Japanese Saturns especially suffer from this issue as it seems the majority of them use the problematic circuitry involved. If you see ghosting with this cable or banding in the picture on a Model 2 it is not the cable at fault."

They're recommending Luma Sync cables instead (which my cheaper cable must be). I am indeed using a white Japanese Saturn, but still not sure why it works without issue when plugged in direct but has issues once on the gscart.

Hopefully my troubleshooting is of *some* use to others on here!

It actually arrived last week, I've just been out of town so have been unable to open it up until today (and I'm outside of the US so definitely fast arrival time). It shipped within 48 hours of me placing my order.

He got the one of the extra units I kept. Pre-orders are still ongoing.
JP21: 9 units have been ordered so far.

Could be that sync is out of range, composite sync / sync on luma may help. I own only model 2 Saturns here, no issues. I remember somebody else had similar issues with Saturn, check couple of pages back.

Ya, we were waiting for the extra units to go on sale like hawks. I believe they sold out even before superg had enough time to announce they were on sale on the boards. You would know if you got one...

And by this gugaplex means we were foaming at the mouths with multiple order pages open :p

Thanks superg. Will let you know if anything else comes up and how my PC Engine reacts when the Scart cable arrives. Cheers.

Thank you for this. Yes this seems ideal for my needs. I'll probably go with the analog chip (I'm out of HDMI ports), but it should be less than half the cost of gamecuibe component cables.

Just wondering if anyone has hooking one of these to an arcade monitor that has VGA like a blast city monitor

How are we looking on JP-21 units? I decided to grab another to help push the number higher and to future proof my setup since I will already just about fill one switch up!

I like the way this man thinks!
I really don't feel like buying new cables and worrying about csync on my n64 or rgb nes

I understand you make these all by hand. Do you plan on selling kits to save yourself some time? also I dont think I will have the money for one at this pre-order time, do you know when you might open it up again?

No kits. Read back this topic, it all has been explained before.
There is around 1-2 month gap between pre-orders, that includes some extra units, I think it'll remain this way for now.

I have some serious thinking to do. I am daisy chaining three Bandbridge units together but I am thinking of ordering two of these. Beautiful piece of kit

JP21 is still on 10 units and honestly I don't see how this can go further.
I will be refunding all JP21 orders this Saturday and it's likely that I'll cutoff SCART pre-orders this Sunday (every JP21 user will still be able to pre-order SCART switch)
