i dont have a very good phone, its vga i think? the camera i used this morning for the disk was my mother in laws, borrowed it because i was selling a heap of stuff, but i gave it back today.
He already pointed out a bit ago that it doesn't even register as a cd on his computer. Best bet at this point is to get a titlescreen shot. Whatever phone you've got, just do it I imagine whatever the quality, it should be easy enough to notice the two apparent things that the titlescreen shows it's the 1.5 version(the font and the eyeball).
I see, then can you tell us if this is screen you see? (But instead of Resident Evil, it says BIOHAZARD 2?)
Even if the disk doesnt show up, this may still work (Havent tried it since 10.4 though so I dont know if it works in SL) http://www.slashdotdash.net/2006/08/14/create-iso-cd-dvd-image-with-mac-os-x-tiger-10-4/ Edit: And I dont know if its been said, but EPSXE is the way to go if you get Parallels set up. It can be a bit slow (at least on my Macbook Air), but it's workable. Let me know if you need any help with that stuff.
Im gonna try that image thing now and go to bed..Ive had a long day on the internetz. well since topic was started, and im pretty sure a few members have gone to bed and got back up in the time Ive been online. haha. glad i could come through for you guys somewhat. ill see you guys in about 20 hours when i finish work tomorrow, unless i jump on before work, which i probably will.
No guarantee it'll work, Ive had it work with some weird disks, and not work with some disks where it should work. But its something to try anyway.
hi guys, you can use the 'super copy' to copy data in the disc. http://www.snhp.narod.ru/download/scopy.zip progrmam fill in missing data with zeros.
Looks like this might be interesting. I just hope it's not too damaged and that the contents of the disc can be viewed. Although I don't think selling the disc on eBay is a wise choice. I have a feeling that it'll be removed.
Seems like it could very well be something. But there's still the question of the odd Japanese on the disc. Plus, you say earlier in the thread that you don't know a thing about Japanese, yet when you transcribed what was written on the disc, you knew to trascribe カフコン, which is what is written on the disc, instead as カプコン, which is the correct way. How did you know to do that if you know nothing about Japanese? Basically just the odd misuse of Japanese in general is one of the key things here that's making me doubt all of this still somewhat, though besides that everything seems to be fine so far... Edit: Forgive me for getting more into this, but big claims deserve big evidence, and I'm trying to research this the best I can. I noticed the picture you linked to was on a photobucket account for a "kingznake", so I searched google and found this post: http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/30127-fyi-ffxiv-is-a-720p-game/page__p__461741#entry461741 Do you not have this notebook anymore? It looks like you have pretty good gaming rig that's capable of emulating PS1(and I'm aware that post is talking about a different type of "PS1, but you know what I mean =p), so where is it now, since you say you only have a mac and an old PC in a den with no working CD drive? :x Sorry if any of this seems condescending, but again, I wanna rule out any of my lingering doubts, which you can understand with something this big.
To me it looks like someone has taken the enhanced version of Goromacida's video, darkened it slightly and exported the title screen. The image itself has Quicktime 7.6.6 (Mac OSX) in the footer...
Well I can't stay up forever but I have a feeling when I wake up things aren't gonna be pretty around here.... You never know, hopefully socram has more answers soon.
I'm a just little bit skeptical every time something like this shows up and all the planets seem to align so there's no way for the person to show a picture or get the disc running... "Oh, I have a Mac, I can't use a PS1 emulator and no way to get to a Windows machine anywhere....Oh, I don't have a camera so I can't show a picture of it running..." As always, I'll believe it when I see it.
You guys are not going to belive this BUT!!!!!! And as you can see it runs full screen in PhotoShop with only 5 minutes of messing about with settings! WOW!
It's not that it even looks the least bit photoshopped. Looking at the screenshot again, there are artifacts in the image that just screams to me that it came from a compressed video and not a still digital image. No matter how bad the camera is, a camera won't produce a screenshot like that. It looks like he took a frame grab from the video posted earlier and blew it up. In fact, it makes no sense now. The Japanese handwriting itself looks like it was done by an Gaijin, and that's being a bit fair. And it's bad enough that the writing on the disc itself doesn't make sense either. And also, writing around the center of the disc, really? I knew this was sketchy right from the start. But don't get me wrong, it'd be nice if there was something more substantial, but from what I've seen - it appears to me to be nothing more than a slightly more convincing version of this from earlier this year: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30071
