No, this was pretty far up North. About an hour outside of San Francisco. It's nice to know there's one closer to LA though! I'll have to check it out one of these days.
Me and a pal tried some Danish beer yesterday. Viking's choice: Faxe strong beer with 10% alc! 1 Liter cans! :love2: Tastes good. Smooth and the 10% alcohol are quite noticable. We actually got us two 1l cans each, one with 10% and one with 5%, but we ended up thinking the 10% one was enough if we don't want to overdo it. XD Can't say I was disappointed for 1,50 Euro. ray:
They used to sell the 5% Faxe lager over here. Aside from the novelty of the oversize can I can't say it made much of an impression on me, and even the can wasn't that great an idea - just meant it got flat and warm toward the bottom of the can. I'd buy one of those 10% ones though, just for kicks.
I could do with a beer right about now. My jaw is fucking killing me. Think my wisdom teeth are coming through and I dont have a dentist and haven't been to one in years.
In Germany I used to drink alot of Becks Gold or if I was taking it easy Becks Ice/level 7/orange. In Oz was Victoria Bitter. If im eating a Curry its Cobra or Tiger. If im eating a Chinese its Tsing.... Cant remember its name. If im chilling out its Guinness. If im in a club it has to be bottled and most likely some alcypop like WKD Blue (which can produce some rather amazing green sick !).
The other day I had Becks Dark. It tasted like Becks. But dark. Duh! Today I will have my normal Pabst. Because 6 16oz are still $4.59+tax.
Tsingtao. I used to know a pub that'd sell boxes of those under the counter at an only mildly extortionate price. Great for taking away at the end of the night. When having a curry it's usually Cobra or Tiger or Kingfisher since those are the only lagers that curry houses stock At least that's how it is around me.
TsingTao is really popular here lately. It's even stocked in the supermarket near my house. A friend of mine really likes chinese beer. I am not a beer person, but certainly, I can get her to drink several of the different beers available here and see which one is better.
Faxe Leverandør til det danske folk Faxe supplier to the Danish people, which was a counter motto to Carlsberg and Tuborg , who are / were "suppliers to the Danish royal family".
I know someone else who claims to only really like Becks. Can't see the appeal, myself. Just another lager.
