After some pretty serious, heart pounding moments of scraping together sufficient funds, I finally managed to purchase the PSP Testing unit that was on offer from another member. Apart from the PS2 Tool, I don't think I have been quite so intrigued to get my hands on a piece of development kit. Possibly, with the exception of my Xbox Debug, which was the first bit of dev hardware I ever owned. Whilst, intrigued I am also excited about it, which only goes to show what a great big kid I am. I'll hopefully get this item fairly soon and will open her up to see what's inside. Anyone got any information / internal shots?
Very nice! Don't forget to take glamorous shots of the unit, like how you did with the TOOL. ...and don't be afraid to dissect it and photograph!
I'm away for a few days, however the moment I get back it'll be in bits on the kitchen table. P.S. I was looking at the kits you had Mark and wished I'd purchased one whilst I had the chance. Very nice - I love the fact you stick to the one unit and really get at it. I'm really going to cut back and stick with the units I have now. It could get too expensive and too time consuming.
Your going for the PS set arnt you? lmao Nudge nudge, when that PSP comes available i fancy a go at homebrew!
Do you know, I would be other than I look at the PS3 devkit and think, where is the romance in that? A black monolithic block of proto-Betamax. What's inside the unit IS impressive, but as someone pointed out to me they love the PS2 Tool basically because it is a HUGE PS2 shaped unit. Sony made no attempt to disguise the fact. Think about Christmas and the sight of those jumbo Toblerone or Dairy Milk bars - it's the same thing. If they showed up in brown paper bags, you'd not find them nearly as interesting despite them being the same bloody thing. Says a lot about collectors mentality that lol - someone do a thesis on this please ;-)
I am serious about this UJ, if you can't spot another one or you want a shot you are more than welcome to visit Scotland and have a go. You seriously helped out with the PS2 Tool HDD images. I sometimes travel to Paris and will effectively invite myself and drop in with the unit one of these days mate ;-) <UJ suddenly decides to move to Dijon>
well to wait for the stuff shiped its allways the worst part of all, im still waiting for my debug x360 and cant wait until the postman calls my door Good luck in your waiting Parris
Well my internet connection sure did move far away from here! Think twice, what will prevent me to nail you to the floor with an unexpectable Tool drop on the foot, and then to run away with your fine piece of Sony's hardware I don't think I'm gonna travel outside France anytime soon, too difficult considering my current medical treatment, wich I don't want to discuss in your thread. Congratulations for your purchase, I'll wait for the pictures.
thanks Parris, it should arrive this week. i just hope the same for u. well kinda not offtopic but ... any1 knows if this psp devkit is linux based as ps2 devkit ? psp sdk is kinda similar to ps2 sdk so maybe its similar ...
You remind me of the scene from "Shallowgrave" where Ewan McGregor ends up pinned to the kitchen floor... This is clearly the console world's equivalent. Next time I am in Paris, I'll give you a shout for a cup of coffee. Might take the wife over for a break away before the year is out. Re your health, sorry I didn't realise it was so difficult. Well, Mohammed goes to the mountain. If the wife lets me put a devkit into the luggage that is ;-) Thanks mate and images to follow within the next week or so.
While waiting for your unit, take a look at the manual found on one of those links(the other one will give you the manual of the psp dev unit) https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=888572&fcc_id='AK8DTPT1001' https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=406107&fcc_id='AK8DTPT1000'
