I think Parris should start renting his devkits to development houses for a low monthly fee , in order for them to boost production rates. It's cheaper (For the dev studio) than having to lease new devkits straight from sony ;p

Having received the unit, I can only say that it is in such good condition that there is little point opening it. The link UJ posted previously contains some pretty interesting internal shots and the only thing I could add to that are probably a few images of the DVD drive and UMD drive removal.

Parris, is that a Wireless antenna on the back also? So that it covers the Wireless Dev side of the PSP too??

Man your desk must be buckling under the weight of all those Sony dev kits by now!

Yes, it's an antenna! It's an incredibly compact unit and really well produced.

As for the desk, well I always feel there is sufficient space for further items.

I've seen the messy room you occupy. My 14yr old is bad enough!

    What is the model number?
Any close shots of the unit?
Have you tried running a game or video umd?
Does it even play video umd?
Have you removed the metal plates on the back(°2 and °3 on the manual)?
Take your time to answer, there is no rush at all :)

I'll get images of the unit running, open and close in the coming days. I'm actually away as of tomorrow so will attempt some material tonight.

Model #: Sony DTP-H1500 Testing Tool

I have run a couple of retail games discs. They load up fine.
The weird thing with the UMD films is that they are recognised, but an ''Incorrect region code'' message appears. I've yet to find a region code setting on the systems menu, so perhaps it just doesn't play them.
I haven't had time to remove the metal plates, but there's a warning about them in the manual. I.e. inappropriate use could seriously damage your system. I am intrigued too lol.

I guess the same warning can be found in the Tool manual about the metal plates on the PC board...

It was a large file of images grabbed 10mins ago. I'd be taking up too much space here with them and I'm also going to clear out my images folders so they'd all just disappear. I'll get back to it soon.
