Nice one on the testing tool. The dev kit for psp is ok but testing tool is so much easier if you want to just run games.

One day I'll get my hands on the devkit, but in the mean time the Test is great fun ;-)

I guess you read the manual:
The other one, I don't know, maybe to reflash the unit or diagnose it...that is if the db9 one is not a regular serial port...

UJ: Let me rephrase the question.

I had read the bit re "7 RF" in the manual, however I was none the wiser as to what such an access point would be useful for. It comes equiped with 2 ports and Wifi capability.

The real question SHOULD be, why have an RF port for access with all those other options?

Clearly, Sony had their reasons! I'm just curious and wondered whether you had any personal opinion on the matter or had run across some information elsewhere about it. ;-)

That said, I really, really must go and get some sleep!

Well sometimes you need a better antenna or a wifi booster device...

Fair point! I'm wondering whether 1 of the 8 (0-7) GPI dip switches might influence whether the unit boots in PAL or NTSC? (for the UMD film) It suggests they are user definable, but whether that means they change from test situation to test situation, or are like the switches on the Tool I'm unsure. The manual mentions them, but not the functions that can be assigned to them. Further reading is required.

I've not had time to wade through the 2nd file, so I'll grab that for the laptop and look later as I'm away until Sunday.

There is however every possiblity it just doesn't play film.

Thanks for the comments! I'm away at present doing some work, but back Monday. I'll try and obtain some more "system" type images at that time.
