I used guiformat for fat32format (32KB cluster) and it works great on my SanDisk Ultra 64GB

Have you updated to latest GDEMU fw?

    GDEMU GDMenu Bugs Compatibility Issues

I just got my GDEMU going today and here's some issues I'm having. Everything else I've tested is working great!

DreamShell 4.0 RC3 (CDI) - DOES NOT LOAD restarts back to GDMenu
Gunlord (CDI) - DOES NOT LOAD restarts back to GDMenu

    * Had to manually delete beta v0.5 ini from root of SD card - then created new menu with Stable ver

GDMenu - Press "A" restarts back to GDMenu (Press "START" to launch instead)
GDMenu - NO individual VGA/Region patching (patches everything or nothing)?

    * Didn't realize you can right-click to change individual Region

Crazy Taxi (GDI) - Intro video freezes - music still playing
Sonic Adventure (GDI) - Intro video crashes to Start select menu screen

    * Think my GDI dumps were bad. I got the NOT FOR RESALE v1.005 of Sonic Adventure and SEGA ALL STARS v1.004 of Crazy Taxi - WORKING

It's kind of a bummer the GDEMU and GDROM can't work together, so you could dump your discs to SD. That would be shweet!

GDMENU 0.4 is Alpha version olso if you use 0.4 you need to start the game with start button instead of A. you can use GDMENU 0.3 as norman.

if you use 0.3 and you have freezing's try another SD card

It took me a minute to figure out I had to press "Start" and not "A" like it says lol

Appreciate all your efforts - GDMenu is really great!

Do you know a CDI that can manage/backup/restore VMU saves to GDEMU SD?

to save VMU you need one of this

    1) SDCARD adapter for your serial port

    2) Serial to PC cable

    3) Broadband Adapter

with option 1 you can use Dreamshell, option 2 and 3 don't know exactly the way

also there is a kickstarter project named Bliss-Box that enables you to connect game controllers to your pc that will enable VMU backup https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/544088930/bliss-box-4-play-one-adapter-for-many-controllers-0

    Hello here.
@ madsheep : how "beta" is the GDmenu 1.04 now ? i mean, is it near from becoming "officially stable" version ? did you (and neuroacid) get feedback ? I must admit that i personnaly didn't try it for now, being very very busy.
I asked you because neuroacid seems to be away from here these days. I hope Rhea's menu is still on its way :)
    Thank you all !

That version was just a WIP/PoC not intended for the end-user.
You shouldn't be using GDMenu v0.5 anyway and you can read on why a few pages back.

The download link for the latest release (currently v0.4), can always be found on https://gdemu.wordpress.com/links/

Might as well just post a quick status update on the menu.

For anyone wondering, I've haven't had much time to work on the menu lately, but I found exactly what was causing the problems on some games and made some fixes.
Anyway I still plan to rewrite the bootloader, so hopefully I can get to it next weekend or so, after that I'll still have to test a lot more games to check for any other problems.
There's also some firmware changes incoming with some fixes and features that I'll have to implement on the menu next.

About the Rhea menu, I know I said soon, but unfortunately I haven't had time to work on it for the past month, it's functional and pretty much ready for an initial release I just need to find the time to put on some final touches.
Good thing that I acquired a Saturn and a Rhea recently (still waiting for it to arrive), so at least it should make development/testing easier.

Oh and before you get too excited about it, be warned that there's no way to change discs for now besides pressing the tact switch, but at least you can see the full games list on the SD card and cycling through them is pretty fast.
Unfortunately, sending custom commands to the Rhea is not as simple, so finding a good way/workaround to do it that is not too slow, will take some time.

Good to read you neuroacid !
Be sure that there was obviously no complain or request at all in my last post, not even any impatience.
So you've written Rhea menu without the Rhea itelf ? oO Kinda good, man !
Anyway, all my congratulations and grateful thanks for your job.
I hope you'll find a convenient way to choose the Saturn games using the paddle.
    See ya !

I've been having terrible luck getting MANY of my CDI to work with GDEMU. The Dreamcast simply reboots when I try to run them. GDI on the other hand, works flawlessly.

I was under the impression that GDI/CDI were all supported great, but there seems to be limited CDI compatibility. Anyone else experiencing this - Maybe I'm missing something, settings, etc?

    Tested Not Working

    NG:DEV.TEAM
    Last Hope: Pink Bullets
    Fast Striker
    Gunlord
    NEO XYX

    HUCAST.NET
    Dux 1.5
    Redux: Dark Matters

I had to manually delete the 01 folder and the ini file on the root of the SD card. I was deleting GDMenu from inside the SD Card Maker program before, which wasn't working. Then I made new menu files with v1.03 and voila!

I have all of those CDIs working with no issues.

Using GDEMU firmware 5.10.0 and a card I loaded and "built" with the SD Card Maker 1.03 version from MadSheep.
I don't have a good solid recommendation. Maybe try a reformat of the card and make sure you're using the 1.03 version and not the one with the beta GDMENU.

    FW is 5.10.0
SD is SanDisk Ultra 64GB SDXC Class 10

I tried using Card Maker v1.03 but then none of my games would load; just resets the console back to GDMenu. Start press does nothing, just A.

beta v1.04 seems better for me, except certain CDI not loading

Thanks madsheep and neuroacid for originally pointing out my problem may be related to beta v0.5

Thanks JGBtypeR formatting would have worked too.

I'm looking for a little help with this rebuild tool. So far I've tried it on Crazy Taxi 2, Virtua Fighter 3TB, Outtrigger and 18 Wheeler. I've had no luck loading up any of the shrunk down games. Within GDMenu the shrunk games show up as unknowndisc/empty folder. Does anyone have any pointers.

It freezes during intro scene. Music keeps playing, button presses not responding.

I also played about a minute of Arcade Mode and it froze. Uncompressed GDI plays fine.

Not aware of any problems SanDisk Ultra card

I tried a smaller sdcard like you suggested and sure enough, it worked!

Then I reformatted my bigger sdcard with a 64kb cluster. Crazy Taxi now works compressed. Games that had minor artifacts and texture pop-ins are now fine.

I'll test with multiple cards if I have any more issues.
    Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure if this makes any difference for the Dreamcast or sdcards, but I remember having to defrag isos for HDLoader on the PlayStation 2. It could explain why formatting fixed the problem.

Here is a working Dreamshell SD loader GDI, unfortunately UGC wont boot a truncated version.

The SD Card adapter is required.
(I use this so I can flash my bios, means I dont need to swap out the UGC for the GDRom drive)
DreamShell 4.0 SD loader GDI Download 35MB/s

UGC wont boot past the dreamshell logo screen with the normal version, only the SD card executable works. Even the boot loader freezes.
