This is stupid as hell cuz of how much Capcom led everyone to think it was finally gonna happen, and the prototype release on the estore was just around the bend too Capcoms getting super flamed everywhere atm
Not trying to pick a fight but what's the big deal ?! I was more concerned about this Resident Evil Mercenaries permanent saves issue. I was never a fan of these Mega Man spin-offs to begin with. I'm sensing an overrection over this Mega Man Legends thing. People calling boycotts or even quitting Capcom cold-turkey. Its just ridiculous !
i just wanna say the games creator left the game or company so yah without them this game was on the fast track to shitcanvill usa also bump bump bump another one bites the dust
I would also like to know what the big deal is. Being a giant fan of Megaman ever since I was a child, I have always known that Legends was the worst of them all. Admittingly, I never played the 2nd... Beat the first though. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. EDIT: The talk of that prototype release sound intriguing though.
I haven't properly enjoyed a Mega Man game since Mega Man X3 honestly. Legends was never my thing but Capcom sure has been screwing the pooch lately. Badly. If they want anyone left to buy their games they better start kissing some ass.
They shit canned it the fans will riot cut off some Capcom exec's balls and they move the project over to consoles as the first mega man retail game in a long time
The worst part about this is just how involved they were trying to get the fans... Throw in an 11-year wait time, and the fact that it seemed like its release would be inevitable. The fans are frothing at the mouths right now.
Are you sure they're frothing at the mouths ? Or the second Capcom announces a new Strider or Ghost N' Goblins title all will be forgotten ? It just seems to be alot of irrational behaviour over Mega Man Legends 3 at the moment.
I don't know, man. Two Mega Man games cancelled in one year now, and I happen to know a lot of folks who picked up a 3DS simply because MegaMan Legends 3 was announced for it.
Exactly. People who weren't interested might not get it , but A LOT, and by that I mean LEGIONS of people were so incredibly excited about this considering where the 2nd game left off among other things. The Legends/Dash series is classic, and very unique in the Rockman/Megaman family. To make us wait over a decade for a proper sequel and then get the users involved. Then suddenly take a shit all over us for whatever reason *cough* without Inafune they are lost *cough* after they already cancelled Mega Man Universe and The Mercenaries fiasco is a dick move. How they could've thought any of it would be beneficial to them is beyond me. Maybe they are re-organizing all of their development teams to make more stupid multiplayer based games. The only things that seemed to have made it through this retarded "LOL MULTIPLAYER GAMES ARE THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE MONEY" Phase they've gone through in the last few years are things like; Last Ranker (Which will likely never make an appearance in the west), Gyakuten Saiban/kenji(though apparently "poor sales" is why we are no longer getting them in the west) , Game compliations/re-releases/ports/re-makes/poorly advertised games like Ghost trick that I never knew even had come out, which i'm sure they'll claim "Sold Poorly" (seems like anything that doesn't sell 3+million copies ala Monster Hunter "sells poorly" to them now. Like Lost Planet 2, which is a great game and it sold well *1.5+million*.), niche titles like classic mega man/bionic commando rearmed. Eh
More fool them. If one one two games are allegedly your sole reason for owning a certain console then only a complete tit would buy said console before the games were physically on the shelves. Nothing in the game industry is a given so someone bleating that they've paid $250 on a console for a game that was months away anyway only for it to be canned gets no sympathy from me.
Megaman Legends for 3DS cancelled After reading the below from Capcom, any ideas why you think they cancelled it? http://www.capcom-unity.com/gregaman/blog/2011/07/18/a_message_from_capcom A Message from Capcom Monday, July 18, 2011, 8:02 PM [General] We'd like to thank you for your ongoing loyal support of Mega Man Legends 3. Today, however, we must regrettably announce the discontinuation of this project. From the outset the MML3 Project was intended to give gamers across the world insight and input into the development process. Part of this process includes an assessment of whether the title will go into full production, and is based on a number of criteria with input from different sectors of the company. Unfortunately it was not felt that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project met the required criteria, and it is with regret that we must announce that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project has been cancelled, meaning that Capcom will not be releasing the Prototype or the full game. Additionally, updates of the Mega Man Legends Developer Room will cease as of today, though the North American Developer Room and its forums will remain open indefinitely. We can only express our deepest apologies to all of you who have lent us your unending support, including participation in the Mega Man Legends 3 Developer Room. On behalf of the entire Legends team, please accept our sincere apology for failing to meet the expectations of the fans. We thank you all so much for your extended support of this title and this community, and we hope that you will continue to support the Mega Man franchise as well as other Capcom games. If you have any questions, please see the FAQ below. ==================== Q: Are there plans to restart the Mega Man Legends 3 Project in the future? A: Currently there are none. Q: I want to maintain contact with the people I met through the Devroom. A: The Dev Room will remain open in a limited capacity, so you can PM those people now and in the future. Q: Is there a chance the ideas recruited in the Devroom will be used in future games? A: No, I am afraid not. Q: Will it be okay to upload the ideas we contributed to the Devroom elsewhere? A: Yes, you may reuse your ideas elsewhere, including those ideas that were selected as winners in Devroom events. Q: Will the people whose ideas were supposed to go in the game receive something else instead? A:Yes, those whose ideas were to be implemented in the game will receive a commemorative gift, which will be shipped at a later date. Q.Can you please give me more information on why the MML3 project was cancelled so close to the launch of the Prototype? A. The project was cancelled for the reasons outlined in the statement. Q.Will the Prototype Version still be distributed via the Nintendo eShop? A.No it will not. Q.Is the cancellation of MML3 related to the departure of Inafune-san? A. The cancellation of the MML3 project is in no way related to Inafune-san leaving the company. Q. This is the second Mega Man game cancelled this year, what does this mean for the future of the Mega Man Franchise? A. Mega Man is still an important franchise within Capcom’s portfolio and we will continue to pursue opportunities to create new titles in the series. Q. The Dev Room was a place where fans were supposed to be deeply involved in the creation of this product, why were they not involved in the decision to cancel this product? A. We thank all those who were involved in the Developer Room, but the decision to continue or cancel the MML3 ultimately had to be made by Capcom. Q. What will happen to the ideas and input participants have given to the Dev Room? A. Content will remain viewable on the Devroom, but will not be utilized for any future projects. Q. Will there be any future projects that involve fan participation in this manner? Or was this a one time experiment? A. We will certainly continue to welcome suggestions and comments from Capcom’s community on current and future titles although right now there are no projects with plans to replicate the same level of interaction.
