A subjective opinion - I, for one, though the Zero games were very good, besides some minor flaws - but at least they weren't universally derided by players and critics alike. I agree with the franchise milking to some degree, like ex. the Battle Network series, the latter half of which was unnecessary, but not in the case of Legends - the second game ended on a cliffhanger as far as I'm aware, so that's one reason why I think the series deserves at least a resolution of that. In addition, if one Mega Man series isn't guilty of repeating the same old stuff the previous ones did, it's probably Legends. It was outright controversial how it wasn't a "real" Mega Man game, wasn't it? And seeing how there's only two games (plus a spin-off) I can't see how Capcom has milked that series dry.
Wow! Capcom can go to hell. I imagine most people (like myself) were waiting for the Prototype Version to "get involved".
I agree, the Zero games were the only comeback I noticed from a dried out series of boredom inducing bullshit. I gotta admit, that is pretty messed up. What a terrible reply. Do they not check their own Capcom forums? I thought people were showing their excitement for the game all along. (also, I am saying this without knowing, so maybe I'm wrong - I never visit Cap forums.)
I've seen vague suggestions from capcom employees that the game could manage to get brought back with enough clamor
I doubt it will work, but what I've been suggesting on various sites is as follows: "So, go here: http://www.capcom-unity.com/signup1/ Sign up for a Capcom account for their forums. When you have to go through the account Setup Wizard (before you can post), under Favorite Brands (the last option), make sure you put a check next to Devroom. Also, make sure you click on the “Make Me a Servbot†link in the top left (there’s a giant picture of a Servbot, you can’t miss it). Spread the word, and let’s see if Capcom was honestly looking at that one forum as the key decision maker for whether or not MML3 should come out, or if they’re lying through their teeth now that their fanbase is rising up against them."
Haha and they still didnt put Megaman in MvC3. I'll probably pick it up. Seems like they fixed many of the issues I had with the game and Strider is back.
They're saving Mega Man for either Marvel VS Capcom Noir or Marvel VS Capcom MAX Or possibly Marvel Zombies VS Capcom 3
Let's not forget Marvel vs Marvel and Capcom vs Capcom. You know, the ones for people who don't want the characters from the other universe. Each, of course, will have exclusive levels and characters and gameplay tweaks.
Rumors are going around that Seth Killian got punched in the face at the Comic-Con, according to TFW2005 News Staff member, The SecretCode. https://twitter.com/The_Secretcode/status/94113853763358720

Anyone took a peek of this? http://www.facebook.com/pages/100000-Strong-for-Bringing-Back-Mega-Man-Legends-3/149316248475958 Within 2 days, this movement has already reached 10,600 people on FaceBook. Protodude goes over this as well: http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2011/07/can-100000-fans-revive-mega-man-legends.html
Reading this thread, it does sound like lots of fanboys whining about how Capcom are the devil incarnate. Why can't the fanboys just face the fact that Capcom have decided that the series was not going to sell enough to make it worth their while? Most of the Rock Man / Mega Man series have sold less then 250,000 units, I think Capcom knew they were on a hiding to nothing, especially on a system where a handul of games have sold over 250,000 units. Online petitions do mean sweet nothing as any idiot can make one and even if 11,500 people to date have said they like a facebook group it is not like every single one would rush out and buy the game new, even being generous 10% might but that would still be 1,000 people which is a drop in the ocean. Some people have moaned about how Capcom seem to churn out endless SF games, well SF IV sold over 3million copes and Super SFIV sold over 2 million. To put it into prespective only 5 Megaman games sold over 1 million copies and those 5m units that Capcom sold of SFIV is more then the 3 best selling Mega Man games of all time. If I was Capcom I know what franchise I would be backing.
*Sigh* Crapcom have striked again! Dissapointing fans, I hate them. I want to kill them All of them And their families too! [Knife here]
If the intenet outrage was over the lack of an announcement, I could see your point. But Capcom announced the game, got the fans involved with the game, then cancelled the game, and then blamed the fans for the games cancellation. To suugest that Capcom has been anything other than highly idiotic throughout this ordeal would be outright silly. And to suggest that they aren't a bunch of bastards is silly as well, as this is almost the equivalent of Sega announcing Shenmue III only to cancel shortly thereafter. Or better yet: What Capcom has done is the equivalent of telling your kids that you're taking them to Disney World for a few months, and when the time comes taking them to a burned down factory and informing them that Disney World has been destroyed.
