You do know that you're a rare breed of game player, right ? Seriously, how on earth did this not appeal to you back in 1991 ? How is Capcom fucked up if they're making money ??? You don't make sense. THIS and the "CRAPCOM" comments...How old are you, really ? I understand this is the internet and people like to blow things out of proportion. So what did you not like about Mega Man 10 ? And how are you certain the 2 cancelled Mega Man titles were any better ? Keep in mind the last two Mega Man Legends on the Sony Playstation wasn't profitable for Capcom. Keiji Inafune is on record stating that fact. You take a shit on Capcom and their "1000" versions of Street Fighters. But you have the nerve to mention Mortal Kombat and Tekken 6 ? Well said
That would more suggest that they found out that fanboys are the worse people to work on suggesting what makes a game good. Not saying what Capcom did was silly, but I think they realised that it was going to lose money and you can't blame them for pulling the plug, companies are not there to fullfil fanboy wishes but to make money. I do think that Sega should announce Shenmue III on April 1st, would be fun. More like a headteacher, annoucing to the school that they are going to Disney World and for them to suggest things they can do whilst they are there. Only for the headmaster to do the maths and work out that not enough students to make the trip viable without costing the school money and for him to cancel it and for 50 students to cry and moan about it...
Yep! Because the amount of people posting on a forum, that isn't advertised much, to help develop a game is a perfect measure for how many people will wind up buying the game! What math? What math is there to do? What? 10 years ago Mega Man Legends 2 didn't sell as well as hoped? Is that it? Not enough are posting on aforementioned obscure forum? Is that it? There was no accurate measure at this time for how well Mega Man Legends 3 would do. They were 29% done with it. If Capcom had wanted to measure the viability of a release, they should have released the Prototype Version and gauged interest that way. As is, unless them "cancelling it" was a way to measure interest by seeing the reaction, there was really no way to know how well the game would sell. Just because the original games were somewhat obscure back in the day does not mean that word of mouth since hasn't increased their popularity substantially.
lolwut? Last time I checked we were getting a Kid Icarus game and a new Mario game this year. And the Operation Rainfall games are still likely to come out in the U.S. IMO.
For someone who plays a ton of emulation it's obvious you can play Mother 3 in US english , like all the other MotherFantards.
To reiterate what I said in the post you quoted: The Operation Rainfall games, i.e. Last Story and Xenoblade, have not been announced as NOT coming to the states. Nintendo only said that "there were no plans at this time", which is similar to what they said about the Black Wii and... some other game or hardware. I would almost be willing to bet money that we will see at least Xenoblade and Last Story in the U.S. before all is said and done. In so far as Mother 3, the game came out in 2006. The DS has been out for about 2 years. Everyone knows that the U.S. branches of console making companies do an extremely poor job of supporting older hardware.
Get Me Off The Moon, has surpassed 1 / 4 of it's goal already at 25,300 likes. http://www.facebook....GetMeOffTheMoon Also, googling "canceled" brings up Joystiq's Mega Man Legends 3 cancellation article as the 3rd result. Googling "cancelled" brings up Protodude's at 5th. =O
RUMOR: Mega Man Legends 3 is still possible But you still CAN help make it happen. http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9085141 "David" of the 100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3 Campaign has reported that a Facebook user by the name of "Zeri P Bishop," had supposedly received information from a source within Capcom of possibly reviving the MML3 project. According to Zeri P Bishop, fans may actually still bring back Mega Man Legends 3 into development. The message posted here has been edited by me, for it is essentially instructions to help get the game back in development, and clarity and understanding is essential. For the Zeri’s original post, see here. Before you all explode with excitement or scoff it if, this Zeri person's post should be taken with a grain of salt, as he does not explain who told him the prerequisites. However, taking Zeri's suggestion would not result in any harm. For those of you wondering, The 100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3 Campaign, otherwise known as Get Me Off The Moon, is not a petition but a campaign hub aiming for one hundred thousand individuals to join them in an effort to convince Capcom to resume development of the 3DS game. It has already achieved 1/3 of it's goal so far. You can just click on the URL, log into Facebook, click on "Like" on the lower left side of the page. =)
With the 3DS price drop and the inevitable holiday explosion in 3DS sales, Capcom would be foolish to keep this cancelled.
I agree. It makes me wonder if they knew about the price drop before the canceled the game. If they didn't, they may want to reconsider.... I think the 3DS has the potential to put up some decent numbers this holiday season.
