Damn, they really shit the bed on this one, I loved the first two legends games; but to be honest capcom hasn't done much to impress me lately, the dead risings we're fun, and MVC 3 was ok, although I felt the lack of characters at launch annoying. it's a mvc game and I expected to be able to have an army of characters to play as, not what seemed like a 1/3 the characters of 2 and be expected to buy more (although that's my issue with dlc in general, it's seems like companies sell incomplete games half the time just so the can charge more later).
Mortal Kombat is as shallow as a puddle of piss and Tekken is just a case of memorizing ten strings. Still, 3D isn't my thing, I'm very much a 2D gamer and that's another reason why I dislike the new SF and MvC3 games, they are neither one thing or the other. Keep your shiny, soul-less CG quality graphics with flashily animated 3D backdrops, just give me a flat 2D sprite with a nice static background and I'm as happy as a pig in shit
You know Mortal Kombat 2011 has the Same announcer as Super Street Fighter IV X5 is ass X6 is ass X7 I actually like and X8 is too hard to be any good.
I MAD http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/blog/2011/07/19/to_the_devroom_and_legends_3_fans_everywhere basically the game got cancelled specifically because of their own open development strategy with fans, fuck you Capcom
Are Megaman Legends 1 and 2 supposed to be good games or something? I've never tried them. Also, Capcom is company trying to make money.
That's basically a question only you yourself can answer, as its a pretty mixed reviewed game. & they are trying to make money? Blasphemy, I have never heard of any company focusing on profit! Never! ;-)
I'm sorta surprised people care enough to the point they bought a 3DS for it, I liked Megman Legends when I was younger but now think it's generally not that good at all, Legends 2 was so boring too. I didn't think the series even had a good rep.
I do think that the Capcom of today is a bit turd BUT Capcom suported the Saturn to the very end while everyone else pissed off. Konami are far worse than Capcom these days. Once upon a time, Konami were the ultimate game makers but now and even in the last gen they have produced fuck all that stands out unless you're a beatmania fan. Saying that, I am looking forward to their new 360 action game. Are they actually producing that or just publishing it? Yakumo
to be fair even after it's announcement Capcom did make it clear the game was never technically green lit.
There I fixed that for you. Strider 2 was a great game. I've yet to play a Mega Man game that was truly terrible other than something like Rockboard/PC and GameGear ports/Rockman Adventure games. Most if not all Rockman games have their own great individual character and quirks. Fuck, if all the retro-loving people had it their way we would have every single game in the series playing exactly the same. Ala Rockman 1-6 9/10.
In a matter of speaking, they always did. It's just that nobody gave a crap about them, until Inafune said in July 2007 that Mega Man Legends 3 was the game he wanted to make the most, either before he dropped dead or left Capcom. The latter happened instead (thankfully), but right after he announced the game, and subsequently abandoned it and the company. People still talk about the game series fondly, to this day. In other news, someone made a particularly good point from NeoGAF forum, no matter what you think of them. http://www.nintendolife.com/forums/3ds/megaman_legends_3_cancelled?start=100#reply-107
Forget Strider, never enjoyed it, bored the tits off me. As for Magaman, the last one worth playing was the 'Rockman: Battle & Chase' game for the PSX, the Street Fighter/Marvel and various cross-over games have been done to death and as for Resident Evil, Jesus Christ if they never make another it'll be too soon. If CapCom must insist on rehashing, re-releasing and re-imagining old franchises how about something that actually deserves one after all these years? How about a new side-scrolling 'Dungeons & Dragons' game or a new 'Weapons of Fate' game or 'Knights of the Round'? Fans the world over have been screaming out for a decade for a new 'Power Stone' game, much in the same way as they have for a new Rival Schools'. Or how about a new 'Black Tiger' game, one of the best arcade platformers ever. Team up with Mitchell again (are they still in business?) and put out a new 'Pang' game. They're sitting on a wealth of gaming greatness and do fuck all with it except to keep on milking the usual suspects. Roll on 'Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City'. Not.
Not surprising, considering that Lost Planet 1 sucked too. I loved SFIV when it first came out, but it didn't take long for Capcom to go back to their old strategy...3 versions of the same game all released in stores, in our age of DLC? MvC3 is great, though. How long has it been since they released a good Mega Man game anyway, like 15 years?
One year and a month? Mega Man Zero Collection on DS. Or if you don't count compilations, six years at a max, since Mega Man Zero 4 on GBA. As for Legends 3, Capcom's killed off what would've been my first Legends game proper and one of my reasons for getting a 3DS. We're down to one reason right now, replacement of my aging DS "Phat". I'm also feeling like they're deliberately sending Mega Man to hell, considering Universe's cancellation, and not even giving Legends 3 a chance, not bringing out the Prototype version and all that. What Mega Man games are left now? None? Way to handle what was once a flagship franchise.
Obviously only new games count, but the Zero series was pretty crap anyway. Forgot about Mega Man 9 though, that was fairly good (never played 10). Maybe Capcom is actually, FOR ONCE, mercy killing a franchise that turned into milking the same ideas for 20 years.
