My buddy's find today...al Xbox

Emilio is a little gunshy of forums. He asked me to thank everyone in here for helping to find out what this was, if it was real or aftermarket, etc. He's amazed at everything he's found out and is very grateful for the information and offers already put forth.

 

I can say I thank Emilio for coming forward with the system, photos and the short video he posted on my Archive facebook page. I hope more information comes forward about the testing colours.

 

Wondering if blue Halo Edition Xboxes exist.

 

I think all preconceived notions of standardized colors are out the window. With this orange Halo console, anything is possible when it comes to engineering samples.

 

Wonder how much a glow-in-the-dark shell would go for?

E is a little in shock at the attention and some of the offers being made to him. Since i've always been his xbox guy and we're practically brothers, i'm doing my best to convince him to hold on to The Orange Box for a bit of time. At the very least, we're going to try to get together some day soon to get that photo taken, but my goal is to get him down to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo in october to have it on display.

I'm not entirely sure that would be the greatest idea, I mean I think it would be awesome to showcase it for xbox enthusiasts to see and drool over but I think that showing that thing off might be a bit dangerous lol. That is something you would get mugged over xD. You would need a good amount I security on that thing at all times

 

There's a bit of drama happening in the NW that i'm not really at liberty to talk about here. Suffice it to say that prior to this being found, E was not likely to go to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. This is a big enough find to have him consider it, and more importantly, vice versa.

The PRGE has a video game auction the first night, after the booths close. If E ever decided to sell it, I thought that might be a good place to try to do it. But once again, he's not even had the thing a week, so no rash or fast decisions on it.

I'd assume the 18,000 jobs being cut by Microsoft over the next 6-12 months?

 

I thought most of those jobs were Nokia related, they acquired 32,000 people when they bought them months ago. Typically when you merge you (unfortunately) lay off people in which you already had positions filled for. (IT, HR, ect.)

 

Xbox Entertainment Studios is eliminated as well.

 

He really should hold on to it, at least he's a good collector who doesn't hoard it and not show anyone.

Wow, AMOC. Score. Totally wish I went to that expo last year when I was in PDX. You had a nice trip there, iirc. Do you have pictures of your collection? You have several rare boxes yes?
