Well 4 act's for $15,-... or 16 act's for $60,-... the price isnt really on par with other digital distribution title's, but it's is fair price for the gameplay content you get. IMO a 16 act's 2D Sonic game is well worth the $60,-..... so the first 4 act's for $15,- only seems fair.
I've been a die hard Sonic fan for 19 years now. This is Sega's last chance, if they fail I'm giving up all hope (should have done after Heroes really). I'm actually going to buy a system to play this on (only have an iPhone 3G at the moment) so it better be worth it.
The only thing that can make me feel the slightest whim of hope for a new sonic game is if they take the project away from the fucktards at sonicteam and give it to a competent team, like Platinum Games. Vanquish is so frenetic it makes current sonic games look slow and dull
I don't like this idea of buying a game in separated parts. Just imagine how companies will react to that? They are already ripping off customers, with paid DLC's that are on the game disc, others being developed side by side with the game, paid extra items that used to be unlocked ingame. Plus even if it's the best sonic game ever, it's just too expensive. If they wanted to sell a $60 game, they should thought of putting it on a disc, case and manual. I'll wait till they release all 4 parts and then release a bundle with discount.
Speculating about Sonic reminds me of speculating about football. Digi distro will always suck for those who give a crap about their product. I can't believe (and would have never guessed) that we would go from the most physical medium, nice bulky and holdable (throwable, too!) ROM cartridges, to just raw data.
I was thinking it was running on iphone because if the Unity logo plus te fact that it was filmed with a camera rather than a direct capture.
IMO it looks over detailed. The color is lacking in saturation, and the Music is pretty subpar.(The stage music anyway, there is a big quality gap from the Title screen) (I could easily make a better sounding song by grabbing a random midi off the web and applying decent sound production and Midi editing) (Case and point, Here I started this a day ago for practicing some more Electronic Production and song structure techniques) http://www.box.net/shared/zmx1k87hjz Which is based completely from the notes in this .mid file With alterations to make it more Dynamic in parts. http://www.box.net/shared/lp4smj4cqv And even then I could Make my own Midi Or my own arrangement entirely (Which btw I do 99% of the time, I don't feel proud of MIDI-RIPPING :/ I never do it. ). The only thing they did much better than sega is his running animation. And forgive me if i'm the one single soul on the planet who feels this way.
The source was Sonic Retro. Nobody knows anything about the guys making this other than there's two of them. I don't blame them for keeping details on the down low. The Sonic fan games community is a fucking nightmare arena and I've seen many good efforts fall under the wheels of childish criticism. That said Vosse, I agree with you to an extent but it's still a damn good effort and there are some really nice touches. Also I couldn't do any of that myself.
Yeah, I can see your point of view. I just think that almost nobody has gotten everything down perfect ya know? Sega's done some things right and has it's own issues and so does this. Now perhaps maybe if they all worked together lol. Or they just removed all the useless details on this one and made it a little more colorful like S4 who knows. *shrugs* Edit: I did forget to ,mention that I did add guitar to the SF2 song because I could lol
Have you guys seen the new videos up on the official JPN site? This is looking pretty good to be honest. http://sonic.sega.jp/SonicTheHedgehog4/ Yakumo
The iOS version came out today. It's $9.99 or £5.99. I've no idea how well it's going to run on my current 3G, so I reckon I'll hold back until next week and get the Xbox version for the moment. :cur_sonic:
