Hawk got a copy of it from someone.
Hawk flaunted it in a video.
The original authors of the software got tweaked since it was supposed to be kept on the down low.
Respect was lost.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

Very smart words. As mentioned before, ASSEMbler is a drama free zone. We don't care what happens at other sites, on IRC, etc. We'll share knowledge with anyone here. There are two very easy ways to stay on topic:

1) If you can help, feel free to help.
2) If you can help, but think the person asking for help is an ass, just don't say anything and let the request die out.

That said, putting it all in perspective like Kev did is important. It's a game system. And every single tool that runs on a dev or hacked retail was built with a leaked SDK that no one had permssion to use or leak.

To complain about others doing the same to the software that was written with the aforementioned leaked SDK does require a bit of mental contortion to justify.

Hell, I'm still waiting for Xbins to post the source of MAME360 as required by the MAME project. If anyone wants to talk about lack of respect for the work of another, that's a big shining example of it right there. Unless I'm totally blind, I've never seen it posted alongside the binaries. (And if I am I'll eat my previous words.)

Ultimately, if you're working on a custom project and don't want it to be shared, don't post/talk about it publically. Once that happens interest rises and news spreads. Eventually a "friend of a friend" is going to get it, then that friend will give it to another "close friend" who passes it to another "close friend" and so on until everyone has whatever it is. That's just the way it is. Blame Pandora for opening the box.

Hawk gets one of these copies, flaunts as usual
